The process to get to the interview was very slow and drawn out, it took monthly from applying to getting to the interview state, but the interview itself was really interesting. A lot of general questions based on competencies, then an interesting real world situation as well.

HMRC have just launched a recruitment campaign for 40 people to join our Surge and Rapid Response Team. In this job you could be deployed to work with a range of government departments, both in the UK and abroad to help with "surges" in demand for support. This could be customer service work where you'll be speaking with citizens, admin work like data processing, or helping with urgent recruitment campaigns. It's a word that's overused in recruitment, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a "unique" opportunity! We don't need previous experience, but you'll get the chance to develop multiple skillsets. Your home office will be either Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Peterlee or Manchester. Salary is £21,249 or £24,329 for Croydon.
