Nice place to work
Boring all the time
I applied online. The process took 4+ months. I interviewed at Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (London, England) in June 2016.
Long, deep and interesting. They gave me a complex task and limited time. I enjoyed the challenge and did well, and they talked through the operational analysis work opportunities.
Unfortunately, even though I joined as a senior OR analyst, I was placed into a really dull post where my managers didn't even know what OR was. Absolute fiasco.
It’s an exciting time to be a part of HM Revenue and Customs, especially Customer Compliance Group. We employ 26,000 skilled and committed people including compliance officers, analysts and fraud investigators.
We’re passionate about making sure we collect the full and correct amount of money due. This is vital work as money collected - £574 billion last year – is used to fund the UK public services that we all rely on. The work will involve challenging and high-profile investigations that are – at heart – all about people. Because you’ll be interacting with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders, high-quality communication skills and sound judgement are vital.
We are looking for people who are dynamic and enthusiastic with ambitions to develop a strong analytical and investigatory career.
If this sounds like a career that would bring out the best in you, or someone you know, please go to CS Jobs for more information and to apply.
