Mission: To be the Consulting Engineer & Employer of choice within our field,
whilst growing our revenue while providing our employees with the opportunity of succession within our Business”.
Our company will continue to move and ...
I have been working at Hulley & Kirkwood Consulting Engineers full-time (More than a year)
I started as a graduate engineer in October 2016 and immediately found the team to be very supportive. The range of projects are quite diverse which provides a very well-rounded learning experience. To me, the one attribute that stood out the most was the transparency of the company, which as a graduate made me feel involved from day one. Senior staff have provided me with opportunities to develop as an engineer and are more than willing to give me their time when in need of assistance.
Contrary to previous reviews, a browse of the company’s case studies would eradicate any suggestion that H&K work on “poor quality projects”. The perception of having “no work” is most likely a result of colleagues having zero confidence in the individual’s ability to carry out their duties to an adequate level.
H&K has been a great place to learn and they pride themselves on their high standards, as any national M&E consultancy should. They also put great emphasis on progression and are more than happy to fund personal development if you show willingness, this has been evident greatly. I would not regard their zero-tolerance to laziness as “bullying” and would therefore advise any potential employees to consider the recent derogatory review as nothing but a spiteful attempt to damage the company’s image.
Other pro’s worth noting would be the nice office, holiday allowance, Flexi-time and public transport benefits, not to mention the team environment that exists both inside and outside the workplace.
Nothing springs to mind within the Manchester office. However, I believe there should probably be more team bonding exercises between other offices, even if this was optional and required some financial input from staff.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hulley & Kirkwood Consulting Engineers (Manchester, England) in April 2012.
Comprehensive q and a, with focus on me and my interests too. They asked questions about my previous project involvement, who I reported to, what challenges I faced. We discussed areas of interest and how they could be targetted in the future.
