I have been working at Impala (UK) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Just a really great place to work, culture wise as well as growth wise. It's exciting and it's dynamic, and the team generally care about employees and their wellbeing. To list some things: caring management team, generous benefits, generous holiday, transparent and open culture, forward-thinking company, intelligent teammates,

    Cons

Nothing that I can think of?

    Senior Frontend Engineer Interview

    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Impala (UK) in December 2019.

    Interview

After applying for the available role on the website, I was sent an email containing a Calendly link to set up a video call. I selected a date and time slot over the following few days and spent the morning of the call researching more into Impala, their platform, their team, and, also, thinking about what questions I had for them.

However, around an hour before the call was scheduled to take place I was emailed to say that the role had already been filled and my interview was subsequently cancelled.

Following this, I received another email around the time of the interview asking me to select another time slot. I soon figured out that this was a mistake and was told to ignore the 'erroneous message'.

I'm not sure whether to conclude that Impala are unorganised and made an honest mistake, have a distinct lack of respect for the dignity of their candidates, or some combination of the two.

Throughout many years of interviewing with companies, I've never had a call cancelled so soon before it was scheduled because the role had already been filled. To me, this shows a distinct lack of respect for candidates, their time, and their effort.

Of course I can't be sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if these negative qualities and this sort of treatment follows you through into employment with Impala, should you accept their offer.

    Proceed with caution.
