LadbrokesCoral Group provides customers with exciting, simple and responsible betting and gaming experiences, delivered by the most passionate and committed people in the industry.
Our origins lie in the traditional business of providing betting services to generations of British customers on horse and greyhound racing. Today, we've got the biggest UK high street presence in the industry, a growing online business and leading positions in some of the world's best markets internationally. Our recent acquisition by GVC has opened up unrivaled opportunities for further growth and success.
As one of the largest betting and gaming companies, and a member of the FTSE 100 index, we aim to meet the highest standards in everything we do, from the way we run our business, to how we support our people, our customers and the communities we work in. With the best betting and gaming brands and the best people, we aim to lead the field and shape the future of responsible gambling.
On 28 March 2018 GVC Holdings completed the acquisition of LadbrokesCoral Group, transforming the scale and shape of our business to create one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming Groups. The enlarged Group has a workforce of c.28,000 people and with a network of 3,500 bookmaking shops operating under the separate Ladbrokes and Coral brands, becomes the UK’s largest high street bookmaker.
Welcoming the acquisition, Kenneth Alexander, CEO of GVC said:
“The creation of one of the world’s largest listed sports betting companies, combining a portfolio of established brands, proven technology and leading market positions in multiple geographies, is a truly exciting prospect.
“In a dynamically evolving industry, the transaction creates an enlarged Group with the scale, diversity, proprietary technology and management expertise to pursue many opportunities globally.
“GVC has a proven track record of creating shareholder value through the successful integration of acquired businesses and the GVC Board believe this transaction will create further value for our shareholders and those of Ladbrokes Coral.”
In addition to its UK retail outlets, Ladbrokes Coral Group also brings a strong online presence with digital sports betting and gaming offerings across its brands. Internationally they have a particular strength in retail and online operations in Italy, where they are the second biggest online operator. In Ireland, Spain and Belgium they are number one in retail and have a strong online operation in Australia, where Ladbrokes is the third most recognisable corporate bookmaking brand.
Our eight-week summer internships will provide you with invaluable insight into our business, while you develop your own skills and capabilities, and work as part of an intern group to address a real business challenge.
During your placement we’ll make sure you spend time with our most senior leadership team and equip you with the training you need to get the most out of the programme. Your time on the summer internship will be supported by a dedicated line manager and HR support, and you’ll also benefit from clear objectives, developmental conversations and weekly one-to-one meetings.
If you’re successful on the summer internship, we aim to offer you a position on the following year’s graduate programme intake.
To apply, you must be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate degree and be willing to complete the internship in London or Gibraltar. Relocation costs for Gibraltar are supported by the business.
Our graduate programmes are made up of four six-month rotations across our UK and Gibraltar offices. The aim is to develop your understanding of various functions and build your knowledge of both our digital and retail offering. Working as part of a team of graduates, you’ll be given a live business challenge or opportunity to address and present back to our senior leadership teams.
All of our graduates are supported by an extensive induction process to build capability and confidence early in your career, with additional training delivered between each rotation. I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ladbrokes Coral (London, England) in January 2017.
Informal, but got the best out of interviewee. Basic questions such as competitors, reasons for applying for the role and career ambitions. Extremely professional and got to know more about the job role, and who i'd be working with.
