You will be rewarded by the satisfaction that comes from overcoming difficult challenges and playing an integral part in a job well done. Recognizing our similarities. Respecting our differences.

Lear's leading role as a global innovator in automotive seating and electrical distribution systems encompasses more than products and processes - we know that people drive our success and have proven to be our most important asset at every Lear location.

Simply put, we value diversity and inclusion, also extending to same sex benefits, because it makes us a better Company and better individuals coming together to form an even stronger team. When each of us contributes our abilities and varied viewpoints, all of us benefit in growing together and better understanding our complex world. Diversity in the workforce entails valuing dimensions of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, cultural, national origin, skills, age, education, military service and general life experiences.

One of our core values is being an Employer of Choice. Consistent with this, we seek to recruit, hire and retain the best from every background and community around the world. We know that diversity makes good business sense by ensuring we have the best talent available as we dedicate ourselves to maintaining our competitive edge. Lear recognizes that integrity and respect provide a cornerstone for all that we do, in all efforts that strive for excellence, from our workforce, business partners and supporting the communities in which we do business.

Lear’s commitment to Diversity as a Core Value includes establishing GROW, Lear’s Global Resources & Opportunities for Women initiative, with the objective to provide even greater dedication to growth, resources and opportunities for women.  Lear encourages its women leaders to serve on Boards of key non-profit organizations, mentor newer team members and serve as a resource for the many opportunities at Lear.  Lear also invites leading top executives and distinguished guests to provide insights as part of its special GROW speaker series to share their perspectives and experiences with both women and men on the Lear team.

The group defines the term “young professional” not necessarily by age but rather by mindset. Young professionals are those individuals who have the desire to innovate and invest in their work experience. Members of the group are asked to participate in one of the four foundational pillars (Develop; Network; Outreach; and Attract) based on interest and/or skill set. Talented individuals from every functional area are eager to develop skills, network within the industry and support the communities in which Lear does business.

Operation GIVE

From senior leadership executives to new team members, Lear employees dedicate themselves to a wide range of charitable service organizations in the global communities where we do business. Proud of our long history of community involvement, we continue to volunteer, support, and give back to causes that benefit society and those in need. Lear employees contribute volunteer time, financial support, and gifts of goods and services.

I have been working at Lear Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've worked at various auto suppliers in the industry and can confidently say Lear is one of the best - great culture, great benefits/compensation and progressive leaders who care about advancing diversity, innovation and commitment to operations... I was blown away by the Champions of Lear program and the positive impact it's had so far on everyone globally - from plant floor to top management. I'm proud to be a Lear employee!

    Cons

The auto industry is cyclical, so we do have to tighten our belts when times get tough. I appreciate the transparency from our leadership and the responsible ways of managing the downturns to ensure long-term success.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you are doing and investing in our people and culture. Keep on communicating at all levels - transparency is key.
