    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LivingSocial (London, England).

    Interview

I received a call from a member of HR who arranged a phone interview. This took place the next day and was very much what you would expect from a first interview. Going through my CV and asking about what I know of LS.

I was then invited to a face to face interview with the senior analyst and a member of HR the following week at the Covent Garden office. This took around 1 hour and was not too difficult. I was first asked to do few Excel exercises involving large amounts of data in a spreadsheet. This was followed by a series of questions about my CV and the company. I was very comfortable throughout and thought the interview went very well.

Here comes the bad part. I was then told that they would be in touch soon once they made their decision. This phone call never came. Despite a number of emails they have not responded to me. I think that this is a very unprofessional thing to do considering the amount of effort us candidates have to put in for an interview. The least a company can do is let us know of the outcome.

Overall, I found the whole process very unprofessional and didn't get a good impression of the company.

5 Smart Moves to Make in a Technical Interview (That Have Nothing to Do With Coding)

Technical interviews are known for their puzzles. Whether you're asked to write a binary tree out on a whiteboard, explain a sorting algorithm, or implement FizzBuzz in 10 lines or less, you should prepare for technical programming questions in the average interview. But that's not the only thing you should be prepared for.
