    Account Manager Interview

Anonymous Employee in New York, NY (US)
    Accepted Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at LocalVox (New York, NY (US)).

    Interview

When I went to the downtown offices to interview, the receptionist talked about blacking out and drinking in the office while I was sitting waiting for my interviews. The over all first impression was poor, but I decided to proceed.

The interviewees were both men who did not seem interested in speaking with me. Both were very arrogant and the one man kept checking his phone and couldn't remember my name. They did not ask about my previous experience and would cut me off if I tried to speak about it. They just asked talked about how much room there was to grow in the company and how much the employees loved working there. (I eventually found out that this was not the case at all). They quoted me an offer on the spot and said they would send me a contract. They took weeks to follow up, never sent me a contract and when I started they paid me almost $2,000 lower than the amount they had offered me. I was desperate for a job so I accepted.

I was also hired for one position and was trained for another. The whole ordeal was misleading and a bit of a scam.
