M&G has been helping people to prosper by putting their investments to work for more than 85 years. Today we manage the long-term savings of millions of people across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Our customers include private investors, members of pension schemes and life insurance policyholders.
We think of ourselves as active allocators of capital for people who care where their money goes. Our approach is long-term and we encourage our team of more than 400 investment professionals to think creatively, to act with conviction and to work collaboratively on investment strategies to meet our customers’ changing needs.
It’s an approach which has helped M&G to grow its customers’ assets under management to £275 billion (as of 31 March 2017). Our range of investment strategies has also grown: alongside cash, international bonds and shares, we also put our customers’ money to work in global real estate and alternative investments such as infrastructure.
Headquartered in London, we have offices in 16 countries and distribute our funds in 23 territories. We employ more than 2,000 people, mostly in the UK.
At M&G we actively encourage and support our employees to be instrumental in creating a happy, rewarding and community-spirited workplace.
We may be a large organisation yet we are small enough to treat you as an individual and create an environment with a wide array of opportunities, networks and activities for you to grow as a person.
Bring your whole self to work
"Being able to share your personal life with colleagues is a key part of building effective working relationships; you only get back as much as you give in life..."

M&G Pride is our inclusive and open employee network, providing support to M&G's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) and allies' community.
We encourage everyone at M&G to play their part in creating a climate for enterprise, prosperity and the improved well-being of the community.
It is also important to us that we continue to support charitable and community activities in our local area.
In 2015 we donated £750,000 to UK registered charities and community organisations, supporting activities in the arts, education, social and welfare, children and youth, heritage and the environment.
We also encourage our employees in their charitable activities and our overall donations included those which supported:
We do not usually make donations to large national charities. However, we have made exceptions where employees have a personal commitment to a national charity or where we can donate to branches of national charities close to M&G’s offices.
In 2015 we supported over 200 charities and community organisations.
I have been working at M&G full-time
Flat hierarchy, collaborative team culture, excellent work/life balance, company is big enough to be a credible market player but small enough for individuals to make a difference
Investment staff tends to stay at M&G for many years, which is not a bad thing in itself but can limit upward mobility in certain departments
Advice to Management
Try to encourage entrepreneurial spirits
