Somewhere that you can be yourself and be your best!

Learning and Development

Your career is important to you. We will support you by listening to what learning and development needs you have on an ongoing basis and then together we’ll make it happen.

From the first day you join MDS, we’ll welcome you with a Company Induction programme -  so whether you’re new to the industry or you’re a telecoms expert, you will be equipped with the knowledge that you need to do your job and understand the part you have to play in the success of MDS.

We’re passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to develop and learn. Your annual performance review will allow you to discuss and plan for your learning and development needs with your Manager. Whether it’s a new skill or seminar, leadership programme or role related course, we’ll promise to support and invest in your personal development to help you succeed and in turn make MDS succeed too.

We want you to grow with us and that’s why we will always promote current vacancies to our existing employees to give you the opportunity to progress and develop. So whether you want to experience a different team, move up the ladder or are happy doing what you do, we will support you all the way!

I have been working at MDS full-time (More than a year)

Having been at the company for a year, I have already moved teams and have been supported with my development every step of the way. Before starting here at MDS, I did not particularly have a wealth of telecoms experience, having just worked within call centres during summer breaks and after university. I felt immediately welcomed at MDS and the team helped me with the learning process around the product and how the business works. Having such a strong team around me has enabled me to grow and flourish within the business and has opened new opportunities up to me. The flexible working hours are really helpful in balancing work and home life as well as having 25 days holiday minimum! I would recommend working at MDS to anybody who is new to the telecoms industry or anybody who already has a wealth of expertise in the field.

I would say the training could be more structured for new employees as there is a lot to learn, this can be slightly overwhelming but the team around me helped this transition go smoothly.

    Advice to Management

Although this may not be the case so much for me, I do feel that some peoples efforts are overlooked and almost taken for granted. I feel that more recognition should be given and objectives should be incentivised to promote a healthier working environment.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at MDS (Warrington, North West England, England) in December 2017.

I applied online initially. I had to fill out an application form and send off my CV. I then received a phone call from the recruiting partner who discuss the 2 roles I was interested in to direct my into one that suited me most.
After this, I had a phone interview with the Team Leader of the team I was applying for and we further discussed the role in more detail. We discussed what the role consisted of, what tasks I would be carrying out and the working hours involved.
