I have been working at MIT Lincoln Laboratory full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting work, challenging environment, overall intellectually stimulating. If you are male, then there are really only pros to this workplace. You will enjoy every moment of it and grow in so many ways. Even if you take time to build your family and other skills through courses on campus. Men will always be encouraged in every way to become independent thinkers, and problem-solvers.

    Cons

Pervasive sexual harassment against women. Rape emails - the group leaders arranged a celebration for this man and served cake to everyone. A senior staff (male) groped and kissed an associate staff (female) but wasn't fired. Got some comments about how great my body looked. I was told that I was hired just because I'm a woman and a diversity quota needed to be improved. An associate group leader made a comment about spanking me if I missed a step in a procedure. Male staff can literally do anything they want, including assigning work to female staff for things that a subordinate or contractor would do - any time they feel like it. This prevents promotion of the female. If you report sexual harassment to group office and/or HR, they will find a way to fire you including making stuff up and putting it into the annual performance review or taking disciplinary action for things that literally never happened. Never expect an apology from anyone for anything. Also if you report sexual harassment, the group leaders and HR will not always keep your name or the incident confidential.

    Advice to Management

Some of the group leaders are only there to serve themselves and don't actually care about the interests of the nation or national security. They just want power and money. (what a surprise).
