Great central Manchester location. A mix of old and new buildings. Fantastic support from your colleagues. An ambitious plan for both students and research.
Some of the staff are a bit prehistoric and set in their ways. Comms could be better to make sure everybody is in the know.
Advice to Management
Look after your people as they are your greatest asset.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester, England) in March 2017.
The interview had four bits. The first involved watching a two-minute lesson and then you and three other candidates talked about it. You then had a 1:1 interview with a member from the education team. The third task was a 15-minute presentation on a topic that has been sent to you beforehand. Lastly, you were asked to write down a 10-lines paper on what inclusion is. As I was told I was too shy to be a teacher I really felt they did not care about my knowledge or my potential or the fact I wanted to teach, they just wanted me to be something I definitely am not and can never be.
