People like to join, and stay working with, ManpowerGroup for seven main reasons. We know this because we take the time to ask them. We’re proud that we can help our people reach their personal best in a variety of ways. View below what some of our employees say about us.
Each of our locations offers a totally different dynamic – from small high street branches, to our larger ones; and from onsite teams, to our shared service centres and head office. But they all have one thing in common – the pride, passion and commitment of the people who work there.
Each year we ask every single one of our employees around the world (about 30,000 people) what it’s really like to work at ManpowerGroup. In last year’s survey, we were delighted to see that over 90% of our people said they were proud of the work they do, and are committed to making the business a success. Our work is all about people, so it comes as no surprise that it’s our people who make ManpowerGroup great.
Whether you’re at the start of your career or a seasoned professional, discover your personal best through the exceptional training and coaching on offer. We want to help you learn, grow and perform at your finest.
We know a thing or two about talent, and our philosophy is all about bringing out the individual strengths and capabilities of every one of our colleagues. That’s why our dedicated talent team offers classroom and online training in a wide variety of subjects, delivered in different ways. For example, we provide short courses to brush up on software programmes, workshops to develop specific soft skills, longer-term development programmes to unlock your potential in areas such as leadership, and support in achieving professional accreditations.
There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve transformed someone’s life, by helping them into the workforce, or to take the next step in their career. It’s what we do every day of the year at ManpowerGroup – and your career is just as important to us.
That’s why we offer competitive pay, attractive commission structures, and numerous incentives and rewards to recognise our top performers from all areas of the business. From team lunches and hampers; to holidays, luxury gifts, and five-star award evenings – there’s exciting opportunities across each of our brands to reap strong rewards for all your efforts.
Take our Northern Stars programme. Each quarter we reward the outstanding contributions made by individuals from across the business with an exclusive private dining lunch. And at the end of the year, our annual winners are invited on a trip of a lifetime – this year, our winners were flown to South Africa to enjoy wildlife safaris, sightseeing, social events and the opportunity to give back to disadvantaged communities.
With 3,100 offices in 80 countries, there are not many places in the world where ManpowerGroup doesn’t have a presence. That means there’s plenty of opportunity to take your career in whatever direction you choose – from the bottom to the top, from one speciality to another, or from here to the other side of the world.
Our strong and connected family of brands look after every single aspect of the workforce, from recruitment and onboarding, to people strategies and outplacements and everything in between.
Some of our people are focused on building a thriving recruitment desk in their local town, others are contributing to the successful delivery of a global workforce programme. Despite these differences, there is so much that unites us as ManpowerGroup, and so many opportunities for you to have an exciting and varied career with us.
The workforces we help our clients build are behind some of the biggest developments happening in the world today – with the right talent, our clients are able to deliver pharmaceutical breakthroughs, create cutting-edge IT security solutions, produce fleets of state of the art vehicles and so much more.
Over 400,000 employers come to ManpowerGroup for recruitment and workforce solutions every year – ranging from multinational corporations to small, local businesses, and covering every industry imaginable. 80% of the Fortune 500 utilises our recruitment and workforce solutions to meet their business needs. The world of work doesn’t stand still. It’s constantly changing and evolving – and so are we. We know that our business needs to continually innovate, to make sure we’re delivering the best value, service and outcomes for our clients, candidates and colleagues. We also know that your next bright spark could well be the idea that transforms things for the better.
Do you want your voice heard? Everyone plays a part in our success. We’re real advocates of taking chances on new ways of working, so no suggestion is too big or too small. That’s why we’ve established an entire internal network to help our teams collaborate and share ideas more easily. It’s all about being on the lookout for better ways of working and encouraging employees to get involved.
We do well by doing good. Our culture of responsible business practices influences everything we do. That’s why we ask every employee to undergo an annual ethical responsibility training programme.
We’re proud that the Ethisphere Institute has named us as one of the world’s most ethical companies for the last six years running. It’s a great recognition of our commitment to ethics, diversity and social responsibility. Projects we support include youth employment initiatives, employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and social justice campaigns in areas such as welfare reform and economic dependency.
We started as one office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1948. It was simple - our founders, attorneys Elmer Winter and Aaron Scheinfeld needed a typist to help them meet a project deadline, but they were unable to find a substitute on a temporary basis. They realised there was a market for a temporary recruitment agency - and Manpower was born.
In 1956, we opened a small office in London and became the first recruitment company to go international. Opened by two outstanding secretaries Norma Levy and Doreen Woolf, they started a movement that said to the world "Here comes Manpower".
From there we've grow into a $20 billlion business, with the world's largest, industry-leading network of nearly 3,000 offices in 80 countries and territories worldwide. Each year we place over 3.4 million people into jobs with nearly 400,000 of our clients across the world.

Advice to Management
Support and training are key for staff detention and productivity.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Manpower (Kings Park, Scotland) in May 2016.
Had first interview with the branch manager and then the op's manager. Made me feel welcome and relaxed. Very professional and felt they were interested in what I had to say. They also asked questions about me, I felt as if they were interested in me and my life.
