We started as one office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1948. It was simple - our founders, attorneys Elmer Winter and Aaron Scheinfeld needed a typist to help them meet a project deadline, but they were unable to find a substitute on a temporary basis. They realised there was a market for a temporary recruitment agency - and Manpower was born.
In 1956, we opened a small office in London and became the first recruitment company to go international. Opened by two outstanding secretaries Norma Levy and Doreen Woolf, they started a movement that said to the world "Here comes Manpower".
From there we've grow into a $20 billlion business, with the world's largest, industry-leading network of nearly 3,000 offices in 80 countries and territories worldwide. Each year we place over 3.4 million people into jobs with nearly 400,000 of our clients across the world.

We have created a clear career ladder taking you from Associate Consultant to Lead Consultant and beyond. Career progression is up to you and where your strengths and interests lie. Your manager will hold continuous career conversations with you and you will work with our Learning & Development team to put a career path and development programme into place. Due to our scale you have multiple opportunities to explore. Several of our Senior Directors started their careers as Manpower Consultants.
We offer a bespoke, market-dominating training package; 12 month development plan with internal certifications and external qualifications are on offer.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Manpower (Kings Park, Scotland) in May 2016.
Had first interview with the branch manager and then the op's manager. Made me feel welcome and relaxed. Very professional and felt they were interested in what I had to say. They also asked questions about me, I felt as if they were interested in me and my life.
