    Conduct Risk Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Milton Keynes, England
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (Milton Keynes, England) in January 2018.

    Interview

    I applied online directly.

I received no respect whatsoever at this interview!
Possibly the worst interview I have ever had in my lifetime.
    Possibly racism issues.

A few days later I received an email from HR asking me of my salary expectations, and after agreement on a salary, I was told that my CV would be passed to the hiring Manager.

Another few days later I received the below email to attend an interview for which they have given me a week to prepare.

Two ladies conducted the interview. One seemed very nice the other not so much from the start.
I did a presentation on the topic/question they have asked, but at the interview, I was cut off while talking and constantly reminded that I only had 10 minutes. From the second the hiring manager saw me she didn't like me so there was not much I could have done anyway.

There were seven competency questions and a couple of technical which I answered well and thought I did well on them. I was prepared for this interview as I spent a considerable amount of time on competency questions and my presentation preparation.

Apart from being cut short each time I answered all their questions but they refused to answer my questions at the end. I knew at that point that this wasn't the position or company for me.

However, they have informed me a few days later that I did not pass the interview. I wasn't surprised at all. Not answering a candidate's questions are surely a red flag, and that felt the worst because they could tell I prepared well for an interview, so the respect one should have for another is the bare minimum to answer the questions. I answered all of theirs, and when my presentation came to the questions page, I was told "you only get one" so choose wisely. Unbelievable to me. When I requested feedback, they never called me back.

I have an interview with a huge Bank next week for a better position with better salary and hoping this was a practice round for me to be better at my next interview. However, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services let me down not only as a candidate but as a strong brand supporter, and I expected ethics to be above standard, and I was disappointed, again not for not getting the job, but for being treated this way.

A few days later I received the below email.
