Company Updates

  • On 1st September, we welcomed our new CEO, Peter Duffy, to Moneysupermarket Group. Peter kicked off his first day with a company-wide virtual event from our London office where we learned more about Peter, his leadership style, why he joined the Group and his plans for the next few weeks. He then got on the road to meet our colleagues and visit our offices in Ewloe and Manchester. It’s a strange time to join the business, with one colleague meeting Peter for the first time while they both faced different corners in the lift (!) but despite the Covid-safe distancing measures and lack of hand shaking we'd like wish a MoneySuperWarm welcome to Peter. We’re all super excited to see what’s to come!

Work: Your Way – our new approach to flexible working

The way we think about structuring working arrangements has changed to enable everyone to find the right work arrangements that support achieving our goals.

It focuses on how we connect, collaborate and perform, not on how many hours we spend in the office, and helps everyone embrace flexibility, regardless of what team or location you work in.

Equal parental leave

All eligible parents at Moneysupermarket Group - irrespective of gender or the way in which they became parents – can choose to receive the same amount of time off and enhanced financial support to enable them to equally share the joy and care for their children. Parents take up to six months of shared parental leave each, at full pay. New mothers and primary caregivers/adopters benefit from up to six months maternity/adoption leave at full pay, whilst new fathers and partners primary caregivers/adopters can take up to 4 weeks at full pay for paternity/partner leave.

    Fantastic offices with a newly refurbished north wales office
    Good investment in IT kit now with a choice of Mac / Windows for most staff
    Good rewards and benefits
    Diversity in Products and sectors makes it a resilient company in economic uncertainty.
    Response to the COVID-19 pandemic from the Snr management has been inclusive and well planned out - they are surveying staff before making any return to office plans.

    Cons

    Roles are very much location based, it would be great with the extra tools and ways of working we have pioneered over the last 7 months if that can be addressed.

    Pension contribution capped at 5% for matching staff contributions.

    Advice to Management

    Please keep the open comms to the staff using the virtual floor briefs and weekly VLOGs from the management team, it is well received.

    I applied through a staffing agency. The process took a week. I interviewed at Moneysupermarket Group (Manchester, England) in February 2020.

    Interview

    Recruiter contacted about the role and arranged the telephone interview with them. The interviewer was really polite, introduces himself and explaind about the role and the company initially. Then he asked about my previous and current job and the responsibilities. Technologies I have used, my day to day tasks, how I work in a team, who I report to, etc etc. Then he wanted to check my Java knowledge and asked some basic technical questions.
