Career Development

Becoming a recruiter with NonStop means you will receive industry-leading, award-winning training designed to help you acheive your personal and professional goals. 

NonStop training is a mixture of classroom-based, one-on-one, self learning and 'on-the-job' training, intially under the supervision of our five-person inhouse Training & Development team. You will also learn from more experienced colleagues around you and, as you progress, receive significant coaching from Team Leaders. 

The intial phase of training lasts for an average of three months but this is entirely down to you and there is no time limit - we will continue to work with you for as long as it takes, provided you match our efforts. Here at NonStop, you get out what you put in. 

As your NonStop career progresses you will also receive training from industry experts.

Hi everyone

My name is Kevin and I wanted to write a brief introduction in the hope it helps to give an indication about myself and the philosophy behind NonStop, the company I formed in May 2000.

Whilst I appreciate these days it may seem a bit of a cliché, I am one of those individuals that started from humble beginnings. From living in a car in South London to working over 30 jobs, including in fast food restaurants and as a courier driver, ice rink engineer and door-to-door salesman selling books, kitchenware and most famously frozen fish and gourmet foods, my CV was hardly a sparkling pinnacle of achievement.

Whilst out selling fish I spotted an advert for a London City head hunting firm. Their minimum requirement was degree-level education, which I didn't have as I left university after a year. Undeterred I got on the phone and convinced them to give me an interview. I remember how raw I was in those days, but I could sell and I was hungry for success and somehow I managed to get a shot. In my second month I placed eight candidates and went on to hit my car target almost immediately, before the intake three months earlier managed it. In my first year I earned just under £100k in income, billing in the region of £400k. This was truly life changing for me.

After one year a number of people left that business and they convinced me to move to another firm in Old Street, which I did and quickly established myself as the top permanent recruiter in that business. After just two years there I decided to start out on my own.

Looking back now, I honestly don’t think I could have made more mistakes, but that is after all how we all learn. I wanted to create a recruitment business for recruiters, one with exceptional commission, a positive sales culture, with the energy of my first recruitment employers but with the humanity of the second.

The learning curve was steep and at times truly harsh - maybe one day, after a beer, I can tell the full story, but regardless, NonStop was born. It has evolved continually despite a lot of challenges and finally it is becoming the kind of firm that I imagined in the beginning.

Some time ago I reached my personal targets and now my ambition is driven towards taking the young people that we trained and helping mentor them as they take the same journey I went on, without so many of the mistakes, and to build a global business with truly exceptional values: meritocracy, rewards, learning and giving people a chance.

I am most proud of the meritocratic way that the business operates - that we employ people without any relevant experience and do our best to develop them into professional head hunters, managers and directors.

I get messages from ex employees who left 10 years ago that say that their careers started with my training, and I look at some of the people that have worked so hard over the last few years and have developed professionally and personally into confident young business people, buying properties, travelling the world, driving super cars and pushing the business forward over the coming years, and the reward is to know that in some small way the platform that I have developed has helped enable them to reach their potential.

We are still learning, still making mistakes, but honestly the business has never been better or more enjoyable to work in.

    I have been working at NonStop Consulting full-time


    I have been working here at NonStop for almost two years and this could not have been a better way for me to enter the professional world.
    I knew very little about recruitment before I applied to this job and was scared to go into a job where I would be bored of monotonous day to day tasks and have to work for years and years until I could make any decent money or progress in any way. After joining I soon realised that people who had been in the business for only a few years were advanced in their career development. It was shocking to hear of people in the company who were investing in property and had only been working in this job for a few years.

    This company really offers you the chance to make what you want of yourself. Everyone is on an equal footing so if you have the right drive and can work smartly then you can really develop quickly and work towards whatever goal that you have.

    The training is one of the best things about starting here. I have learnt far more useful skills during my time here at NonStop then I did during the four years I spent at university. You are taught the right skills to do this job but also general business/sales skills that can be used in so many other areas. The training team are fantastic and really take the time to trailer the trainings to individuals.

    The commission structure here at Nonstop is one of the most motivating things and is much higher than industry norm. If you play your cards right you can end up making huge paychecks even after your first year in the business. Obviously it depends on the person, everyone develops at a different pace, but each person on the sales floor has the chance to do this.

    I moved to Prague thinking that I would do the training here and then maybe move to the London office but the Prague lifestyle sucked me in. Prague is a fantastic place to live as a young professional and joining NonStop gave me the chance to move to a country that I would have never considered moving too. If you are someone that likes to travel, meet new people, eat delicious food and experience a different culture then this is a great city to do this!
    The whole application process was run really smoothly by the TA team who painted an honest picture of the role and life in Prague. They were helpful with the whole relocation process and made the transition very easy.


    One of the only low points is living off the low basic salary for your first months of joining. It can take some time to make your first placement and until you start earning commission you won't be earning any great money.

    Obviously this is a commission based job so if you are looking for a role where your basic salary is more than enough to live comfortably then I wouldn't advise applying.

    In this role essentially you are building your own business so what you put it you will get out. Nobody will force you to stay late or ask you to work during lunch but I will say that putting in extra hours here or there is going to maximize your chance of being successful.

    I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at NonStop Consulting (Prague (Czech Republic)) in May 2019.


    Two phone interviews, one assessment day in their headquarter in Prague and a possible additional Skype interview.
    The first phone interview is basically an informal conversation with the recruiter, for the second one they will send you some material to study about recruitment and market integration.
    The assessment day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is a mixture of training and group activities such as presentations and mock commercial calls. There is also a book to fill with some info (advertising, general questions about the company) at the end there is a mock task that is basically a commercial call.
    The process is very very quick (first interview on april 29th, second interview on April 30th, May 2nd they give me the outcome of the interview and invited me over in the Prague headquarter (they cover up to 150 euros travel expenses).
    The hiring managers were both men(I am sure it was my case because the units that were hiring had male chiefs )the company would benefit of showing a bit of gender /ethnic diversity during the process.
    The assessment day is quite long and I think has also the purpose to simulate a typical work-day but they could consider to make it shorter or add an additional screening online interview (i.e. the general knowledge questions can be a 10 minutes online survey).
    Averagely, it seems a good company to work in, especially if you are young and money oriented..
