I have been working at Northgate full-time

Northgate has a clear strategy and a strong leadership team.
The company has started to deliver this this strategy and is a great place to work for those willing to put the customer first and willing to change to make improvements in the way things are done.

The leadership team needs to remain consistent for a period of time.

    Branch Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Reading, England
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Northgate (Reading, England) in July 2017.

Applied online and was then initially screen interviewed over the phone and short listed for the next stage. Interview set up and communicated this all clearly and professionally. The 1-1 interview was conducted over the coarse of 1 hour. However very surprised that the person(s) interviewing only had 1 year experience in the industry so we're not able I suspect and did not touch on the operational questions which I would of expected as the role was and is central to good vehicle hire operational knowledge. Instead very generic questions which I think are more applicable to perhaps less specific roles. The lack of knowledge and experience really became apparent in the terminology I adopted and both interviewers not knowing what these meant. The setting for the interview was very professional and within a private office setting. However neither interviewer and one inparticular represented the company as well as I think they should. I arrived in a pressed suit as would be expected. Neither gentleman had suit jackets and in one instance the shirt was hanging out of the larger of the two gentleman which did ring some alarm bells. Clearly a market leader in what they do which is great. However not sure if the quality and brand reputation really reflects in the people you meet during the process and how they present the company through there own presentation.
