I have been working at PURE Canadian Gaming part-time
I am just finishing up the Black Jack course at the Lethbridge Casino and I love it all!! The employees welcome you so warmly like you are already a part of the family. Also, the teacher is HILARIOUS and is the best at constructively telling you what you are doing wrong so you can correct it all in the future. I love it there and it has only been 2 weeks!!
The only con is that its late hours. But that isn't a big deal because they WILL work with you on hours no matter what. And naps are always a staple in life anyway ;).
Advice to Management
Keep doing what you are doing! I LOVE the management. They are strict, but still can have a good time. Also, they don't put you down or make you feel bad for mistakes. They work with you and try make it better!!!!
I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at PURE Canadian Gaming (Edmonton, AB (Canada)) in October 2017.
Met with the Director of Surveillance, started with talking about ourselves, then questions about how employers/coworkers feel about me and what my strengths and weaknesses are, some scenarios focusing on performance and coworker problems, showcase of benefits, climate of workplace and hours, brief question period on my part. Afterward was a 45-minute to 1 hour intelligence assessment including computer based questions, knowledge of casino games, Math and English language, as well as a personality quiz.
Our Leadership Team always look to engage our staff and get them involved in our business. We recently had a SWOT Analysis, where our team broke into smaller teams and identified the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of PURE. Ideas and analysis from this along with many other employee driven tools such as the All Employee Survey, All Employee Meetings, etc, will drive initiatives and the strategic direction of PURE as we move forward! Thanks to our employees for generating lots of innovative ideas and thank you to our Food and Beverage Team for keeping us well fed as we brainstormed!
Each year, Casino Lethbridge puts up the Tree of Warmth in our front lobby. We gather hats, mittens, and scarves that are distributed to the needy children and adults in our community through the YWCA. With Christmas only a few weeks away, our tree of warmth is looking good! All items will be donated to the YWCA on December 22, 2016.
