Mission: We’re part of the Photobox Group alongside our sister companies Moonpig, Hofmann and PosterXXL. Together we’re Europe’s leading retailer of personal and personalised products.
Last week our management team decided to volunteer their time with St Clare Hospice in Essex. They spent a day helping out in their gardens - re-aligning a gate post and repainting the furniture & fence. It was a fun day out, wrapped up by some well deserved rest at the local pub. Cheers!
Our Group CTO Richard Orme just opened our brand new Paris Hub: Le Marais Photobox Group
"Welcome to Le Marais Photobox! So excited to launch our new tech office with the team in the beautiful heart of Le Marais today. The start of a new chapter for our AI, Data, BI, Engineering and TechOps teams in a building fitting their ambition."
Come join us, we're hiring, now in Le Marais...
Together, our purpose is to create closer connections by making moments real for our customers.
People spend money with us for a reason - when it comes to the people they love, they recognise that real things have real power to create closer connections. Increasingly so in a digital age. There’s real magic in what we do, you can see it in our production facilities, in the simplicity and elegance of our user experience. We feel it when we talk to customers. The delight of giving, receiving, reliving, celebrating and sharing. Moments brought to life time and time again through our products.
This is the reason our business exists, the thread that runs through all our brands and teams. The thing that gets us out of bed in the morning and which guides our decision-making. It makes a small but meaningful difference to people’s lives and we can be proud of it.
We like to shake things up; look for new ways to deliver exceptional products and services to our customers; and challenge the status quo and each other. It’s about creating, exploring, learning, and growing.
That means that anything is possible here. And, that’s because we believe in each other. Everyone has a voice here, so we capture the very best ideas. When it comes to putting ideas into practice, we create an environment where we can fail fast and learn quickly. It’s how we do our best work.
Not that we work alone. We want people to build relationships, to collaborate and tap into the imagination and expertise of everyone across our family of brands. Do that and we win together, creating amazing experiences we’re proud to shout about.
Put simply, we go all out to create moments that truly wow, surprise and warm the hearts of our customers and each other – every one of us. This is our business. This is how wemake magic happen.
Everything we do here supports at least one of these pillars. We're all in it together, working across our brands and teams to help deliver.
It’s not for everyone. For a start, we’re a place for self starters and free thinkers. We thrive on each other’s passion for delivering amazing customer experiences, never standing still and constantly challenging the status quo. We look for new and better ways to consistently deliver results and wow customers.
We can be chaotic in our methods and while this is something we’re getting better at, the reality is when you join us, you won’t necessarily have clear structures and processes to guide you. We need people who can carve their own path and even work with others to show us the way. If you see this as the freedom to fly, read on.
What you will get from us is a whole heap of people who want to help you succeed. People who are passionate about seeing our business thrive. People who want to share what they know and what they’ve learned with you. You’ll get the chance to work on projects that are changing the experience for customers and colleagues, and everyone is welcome.
We’re at an exciting time in our evolution. We’re growing up but not growing old. We want people who can take us to the next level. People who have been there and done that, but who are up for doing things differently as well. In return we’ll invest all we can in making sure you get the best from our family of brands. This is a place where you can get your teeth into doing business differently. And enjoy it. Business might be serious, but we don’t have to take ourselves too seriously :)
I worked at Photobox full-time (More than 3 years)
Had the chance to work in the CS team for almost 3 years as middle management. Clearly the team with the longest tenure ( we change CEO and almost all other Dept but CS managed to keep a strong team). Salary was ok, bonus were very good for the agents, but the opportunities for development ( They pay for my Btech certificate) and the employee engagment helped me a lot. Some strong leadership and a real sense of ownership as we were empowered and not micro managed!
Some agents made alot more money than the middle management with their incentives and monthly bonus.
Advice to Management
Don't change, listen more to the Customer service.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Photobox (London, England).
- Phone: screening questions. Leadership, coaching and mentoring questions/
- Qualified exercises (Java). Similar to HackerRank, LeetCode
- Face to face interview: coding session (pairing with another engineer), technical questions/discussion about Android
