Company Updates

  • Pilgrim's to Invest $3.5 Million to Support Local Communities Building on its ongoing sustainability and social responsibility efforts, Pilgrim's, an American-based food company, announced plans today to invest $3.5 million in Georgia to help local communities respond to corona virus and invest in the future. "We take great pride in feeding American families every day," said Fabio Sandri, Pilgrim's Interim CEO. "We also recognize our responsibility to do more than just produce food within our communities. Hometown Strong is our way of demonstrating our commitment to the places we call home, and we are listening to local leaders to determine where help is needed most."

  • The Pilgrim's Moorefield Fresh Complex donated a load of fresh chicken to Mountaineer Food Bank in Gassaway, W. Va., recently. The 25,000-pound load was delivered on July 15. Mountaineer Food Bank operates in 48 counties of West Virginia, dispersing millions of pounds of emergency food each year. The recent Pilgrim's Pride donation will be essential and funneled through our Mobile Pantry Program, said Laura Phillips, Director of Community Programs for Mountaineer Food Bank. A Mobile Pantry is a drive-through distribution that the organization sets up in a parking lot, unloads pallets containing thousands of pound of food, and serves hundreds of households with the distribution. With help from a community partner and volunteers, the food bank assembles food boxes, registers households, and loads vehicles in a streamlined process that provides access to healthy and nutritious foods to the communities it serves. "We could not facilitate this without our volunteers, partners, and donors," Phillips said. "This chicken will serve approximately 4,900 households."
