I have been working at Powell Tate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great opportunity to get started in the field of communications, one of the more flexible agencies in D.C., great opportunity to build reporter connections nationally

    Cons

Senior staff is fairly resistant to change, diversity was an issue, hard to move up the chain, often junior staff is given the responsibility of mid-level executives without any additional compensation, accounts are much more public affairs focused than anything--so little room for creativity

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Powell Tate (Washington, DC (US)) in March 2015.

    Interview

Very simple. Application online required two essays and the usual resume, cover letter and related materials. The essays were clearly meant to illustrate that you were a clear and cohesive writer. Afterwards, I received a phone call from Human resources. They asked a handful of standard behavioral interview questions, and that was it. Received an offer the next day.
