A big well done and thanks to this lovely lot from the AHP team today. They spent the day digging, pruning, chopping, sawing, and generally grafting to create a wonderful area for the children to play in at a local primary school. The head teacher was so appreciative, they have welcomed us back to attend a “thank you” assembly. Well done to all involved!
Pulse is one of the fastest growing staffing agencies in the healthcare sector. We support NHS trusts and private sector organisations by placing nurses, midwives, doctors, allied health professionals, health scientists and social workers into temporary, permanent and contract roles.
We care passionately about our staff and recognise that only by attracting and nurturing the best people can we help clients deliver the best compassionate care.
Since 1987, we’ve grown our business to operate from 10 branches across the UK and Australia, with over 5,000 people working for us every day. Our mission is to support health and social care organisations in providing compliant, expert and compassionate care.
All Pulse employees follow a set of shared values that influence the way we work, guide our actions and represent who and what we stand for.
The ideal Pulse employee, by believing in and demonstrating these values, will contribute towards the positive working environment that is so evident across the company.
We are guided by our experience and knowledge to provide the best possible service and support to our colleagues, candidates and clients.
We are always clear and straightforward in the advice we give to candidates, the information we give to clients and the knowledge we share with colleagues.
We care about people, the candidates we place, the clients we service and the futures of colleagues we work with.
We are proud of our people, their passion, expertise and commitment to the quality of service they provide.
We only place people we would trust with the care of our own loved ones.

We always give rewards and recognition for a job well done; over 15% of Pulse employees have been promoted over the past 12 months, which illustrates our commitment to employee development.
We work together, as a team, to meet realistic goals and expectation. Using a collaborative approach, information and knowledge is shared and feedback is actioned.
Above all, we’re committed to compassionate care and services and the highest standards of quality in everything we do.

As one of the fastest growing staffing agencies in the UK it goes without saying that we’re always on the lookout for talented individuals to join our ever-growing team.
If you want to work in an inspiring environment, which offers you the chance to grow as an individual and progress in your career, Pulse is the place to be. We support a culture of ‘promoting from within’ and, as testament to this, a number of the senior management team began their career at Pulse. For us, transparency is essential and we set visible targets per person, per team, per month.
All employees receive an annual appraisal during which their progress is reviewed and 360-degree feedback received. There are loads of training opportunities including a ‘Management Pathway’ programme and a ‘Key Roles and People’ programme, which is championed by the CEO. In fact, last year over 300 employees attended training courses, either provided by or supported by us. This equates to 31% of all employees and we’re always looking to increase this figure. We’ve supported 120 current employees in achieving their Certificate of Recruitment Practice over the last 12 months.
I have been working at Pulse (UK) part-time (More than 10 years)
Having worked for Pulse myself for nearly 15 years, it is clear that there is encouragement to develop our own management internally, instead of employing managers from outside the business, which gives us a key USP against competitors. Career development is so important and the pathway is visible from day one. There are a number of benefits including good basic annual leave, opportunity to buy/sell holiday, online discounts portal, health insurance to cover you/partner/family, as well as a pension scheme. Pulse is also invested in giving something back, so there are regular charity events and functions happening throughout the year, which the majority of people get involved in. I have and will continue to recommend anyone to work here, whether you want a career in recruitment, admin, HR, marketing, finance. The opportunities are endless!
Parking onsite at our office is a bit of a nightmare!
Advice to Management
Continue getting feedback from all employees and implementing/embracing change. This is something we do really well!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Pulse (UK).
Recruiter called myself, found my CV online the usual, and then they made a date for a telephone interview, on the telephone interview they asked the basic questions and then told me to send references over to them. a few days later they confirmed my start date, salary and who to meet on the day and also requested a different referee preferably someone who i recently worked with
