    I have been working at SDL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. Amazing and supportive senior managers and colleague.
    2. Wonderful working environment, zero office politics.
    3. Good training system for familiarization with PMJ work structure.
    4. Good employee engagement, HR (India) is pretty good at it.
    5. Satisfying work life balance.

    Cons

    1. Salary structure is not as per market standard.
    2. Discrimination between offshore and onshore PJMs.
    3. Shaky alignment of reporting structure if a resource has duel reporting system (onshore and offshore managers).
    4. Ambiguity in annual review system.

    Advice to Management

    It’s a fantastic and enriching experience to work here in SDL (India), but higher management needs to understand that an employee also needs salary to have his/her bread and butter for living. One cannot expect to cashew in return by giving peanuts. If the salary structure is as per market standard it would reduce employee’s dissatisfaction tremendously.
    Secondly, there needs be equality in treating between offshore and onshore PJMs, as both of them are part of the same one SDL.

    I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at SDL (Bristol, England) in May 2013.

    Interview

    Did offline tech test that was supposed to be about C++ but was actually pure C. Had to write a sorting algorithm.

    Two face to face interviews: a technical interview with team lead and another senior developer, followed by a management/HR interview.
