I have been working at Selfridges (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's really enjoyable to work at Selfridges Oxford st. The environment is nice, their is opportunities to grow up and the salary is good. The hours are also good, not really exhausting and allow you to socialize after work. well, I guess that also depend the floor and brand you working with. It's better to be own bought than concession at some point. The discount are also ok, up to 35%.

    Cons

Well, there is none for the moment. Maybe the department manager could be more easy to contact when you need help with a customer but overall I can't find any con.

    Advice to Management

Some manager feel superior and a bit arrogant with the staff, you should work on that point. Except that keep working as you do !

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks. I interviewed at Selfridges in June 2017.

    Interview

Simple online application. Was then emailed a few days later inviting me to complete a video interview. For this, there were about 5 written questions you had to answer before the actual video portion e.g. when can you start, the hours you want to work etc. For the video portion, you have 1 minute thinking time and 1 minute to answer, again about 5 questions specific to the department you've applied for. You can't go back and re-answer questions, but you can skip them. I recieved a call about a week later inviting me for an interview with one of the managers, who was super friendly. The questions they asked were related to the 5 values of Selfridges, as well as questions asking about any planned holidays and stuff like that. They really do want you to do well and aren't there to catch you out or anything. A week later they called me offering me the position.
