Sky Betting & Gaming – Why Work With Us?

Join one of the biggest teams of data experts in Yorkshire

We use data to achieve incredible things - and now we're growing our team to achieve even more.

Taking raw information, and putting intelligence in the hands of decision makers

Our data teams design and build our capabilites, from data warehousing platforms and business reporting, to machine learning and predictive algorithms. We back the decision making and enable the 'magic' that delights our customers, as well as the safer gambling capabilities that keep our customers safe across the Sky Betting & Gaming portfolio.

We use data to make the right decisions for our customers and products and to keep our products successful.

We use data to keep our customers safe

Sky Betting & Gaming takes safer gambling extremely seriously, not only is it a regulatory requirement but it's the right thing to do.

As data experts we take a proactive approach to identifying customers we feel could be at risk and aim to ensure they are both comfortable with their betting levels and award of SG tools available to ensure gambling remains fun.

We developed a bespoke model that picked up on signs of problem gambling earlier in the customer lifecycle.

A place where anything is possible

We work together to turn our big ideas into reality. It’s our passion. We’re given the flexibility and the freedom to be our very best selves. We’ve been creating new ways to entertain our people for more than 20 years — and we’re only just warming up.

We do the right thing

We care about our customers and those around us. Raising funds for local charities. Sharing skills and knowledge through community events. Putting Safer Gambling at the heart of our business to help protect players from gambling-related harm.

Benefits that go above and beyond

Brilliant people deserve brilliant perks. A competitive salary, pension and twice-annual bonus. Free Sky Q and broadband. Private healthcare. Free local gym membership, tons of development opportunities — and that’s just for starters.

At Sky Betting & Gaming, we begin with better. What we do with it, and where we take it, is up to us.

We want to thrill, excite and entertain our customers, every time they play with us. That demands better tech, better products and better offers.

And what powers better? Our people.

Each day we embrace three values that mean we always think and act for the customer.

Free to be me

We’re given the freedom and flexibility to be our very best selves, and do things the way we think they should be done.

Create the next

We never stop discovering, developing or asking ‘what next?’ in our quest to take betting and gaming to new and exciting places.

Know it, share it

We’re keen to share our workings and keen to learn from others. After all, when great people collaborate, great things happen.

Essential listening for anyone interested in starting a career with us

    Graduate Software Engineer Interview

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Sky Betting & Gaming (Liverpool, England) in January 2020.

The tech academy graduate scheme process was very pleasant! After the initial application you are contacted by a personal recruiter for a short call about general information. You are then contacted by the same recruiter for a phone interview which is straight forward and mostly questions about yourself.

The assessment day was very laid back with ~12 people on each day. You are split into 2 groups and given the same data handling task. It’s sort of technical but there are people there to help and they are more interested in your team skills than if you can do the task.

There is an interview during the day with one technical expert and a previous tech academy grad. Again this is mainly questions about yourself and is very laid back and more of a chat.

Overall the experience was very pleasant and laid back and having the personal recruiter all the way through eases the whole thing.
