Great people, culture and products

Not much, the office location is a little odd as it's down a side street in Manchester city centre

Interview
Initial call with their internal recruiter. Discussed background, provided overview on the company and job spec. I was taken aback when it was assumed I wouldn’t want to come into the office twice a week because I have a baby at home. Would a man have been asked this question? I doubt it. Their website talks about inclusivity and how you should still apply if you’re a woman who doesn’t tick all of the boxes, but for some reason this doesn’t apply if you don’t have a background in properties. Anyone who has worked in SaaS within CS will tell you that you do not need experience in the industry to succeed - that’s not what Customer Success is. Wanting to hire estate agents who are after a change is great, but you will be limiting your business in terms of CS strategy and hiring people experienced with SaaS products. I was also wary of the bonus structure for them to offer a base of £25k with an OTE up to £40k. Do you want Customer Success Manager or a sales person? The going rate of a Customer Success Manager in the north west is £40-60k depending on experience. If you’re going to pay less than that, hire a CS Exec or Junior.InterviewWould having a little one at home mean that I’d be looking for something more remote?

I started working at Street Group in Summer 2021 after spending a number of years at a creative agency. I remember noticing during my first week how confident and calm everyone was and how comforting that felt. Moving from a fast-paced, chaotic environment at an agency, into the highly-organised and focused Street Group was the first of a few welcomed changes I’ve enjoyed. Another is the sheer abundance of talented people. There are quite a few development teams working on various projects, but each of these teams are filled with people who are always willing to give you their time of day to help you out. This goes for developers, designers and our product owners who seem to know everything that exists in our products and why. I consider myself quite an organised person and I thrive in an organised environment, this was probably the biggest factor that led me to Street Group. Every project we work on is run through its paces in terms of planning and design, even the ones with quick turnarounds go through a proper thought process.
