    I applied online. I interviewed at Talentful (London, England) in Jan 2022



    - Application was easy
    - Internal recruiter responds quickly
    - They were transparent enough to admit that the job had fallen through the day before the interview and ask if I wanted to continue anyway

    The rest:

    I think Talentful has delusions of grandeur and thinks that it’s Reed or Hays, when it’s still a start up. The leading interviewer on the panel (sad to say this) was one of the rudest, most arrogant humans I’ve ever met via interview which gave an overwhelmingly negative impression of the company culture.

    The interview was very intense and included a task alongside a multitude of questions, which was a little off putting considering the role is basically a junior executive assistant position dressed up as a coordinator. Not sure why I was grilled about my analyst and reporting duties when the main job function is “locating and booking conference rooms”. Hardly rocket science material, is it.

    The day after, the internal recruiter called me and berated me down the phone for not understanding the growth pathways of the role (spoiler - they hadn’t even told me them), they were rude and condescending. I asked for my feedback to be sent via email (so I didn’t have to speak via call with them again) and instantly regretted it. The main interviewer had taken it upon themselves to write an entire essay basically tearing me down and destroying me over minor details that proved they hadn’t been listening to me the entire 45 minutes. Perhaps they were having a bad day, perhaps they’re simply a truly miserable human being, but to destroy someone over an entry level role is extremely aggressive and unnecessary. Noting I “wasn’t curious enough” when we ran out of time for my questions as they spoke too much. Noting I “wanted to be a manager one day and that isn’t in a coordinator career route” just shows they pigeonhole their staff.

    Definitely dodged a bullet there in terms of culture and working alongside said people. If that’s how they treat candidates I dread to think how they treat clients and fellow teammates.
