    I have been working at The Good Care Group part-time (More than a year)


    - travel and accommodation paid by TGCG
    - free board while at placement (food allowance, WiFi etc)
    - supportive office teams, brilliant care managers, fantastic initial training and yearly refreshers with free lunch, free overnight hotel if needed - lots of training and NVQs offered including care certificate, level 2 diplomas, level 3 diplomas and TGCG developed courses such as SPECAL and ADAPT to enhance your understanding of dementia and providing excellent care to your clients.
    - Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful mix of clientele: well matched to your personality and interests so that your time living in with them is enjoyable for both yourself and your client. If you choose to do bank or relief work (there is always plenty available if you like overtime) you will experience some more challenging placements which is great for personal development and learning resilience - plus support is always over the phone. Also if you give your permanent placement a fair chance and cannot settle your manager will happily support you in finding a new one
    - All paperwork is now online using TGCG’s own systems which have been fantastic a real time saver and asset to carers who like to spend more time with their client than on notes
    - This list is not exhaustive I have worked with the Good Care Group since 2017 and cannot rate them enough. My time in placement gives me a break from stress at home and allows me to enjoy 2 weeks off without having to worry about work while still earning what I would in a full 40pw role


    Some challenging placements, if you are sensitive it can be difficult to see end of life, or unhappy clients, angry clients, but support is available 24/7, 365 days a year and there really are more wonderful experiences than the bad ones

    Advice to Management

    Keep being brilliant, on the odd occasion I have had a problem reaching someone or accessing appropriate support I have always had access to the manager above them so that is reassuring to know.
    Also where someone shows that they would like to progress I would like to see Managers put them forward more to enhance progression

    I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Good Care Group (Birmingham, England) in April 2018.


    There was a telephone interview which lasted approximately 20 minutes. This was then followed by a skype interview which was just under one hour, very detailed and intensive. You are made to feel at ease but during that time you do cover a lot pertaining to your work history and your personality.
