Company Updates

  • What a great day yesterday was! We had a range of our benefits providers in NHQ to talk about the benefits we offer. Keeping our employees informed is of top priority and it enables them to make the right decisions for themselves.

  • At UW rewarding our people is important to us. Today we hosted a "Benefits Day" so our teams could learn more about what's on offer and to share their suggestions for what they would like to see moving forward.

The Utility Warehouse – Why Work For Us?

Who are we?

We are an award-winning, FTSE 250 multi-utility supplier with a unique route to market. What does ‘multi-utility supplier’ mean? We’re the only place you can get your Energy, Home Phone, Broadband and Mobile services, all bundled together.

Some people say that we're the biggest company you've never heard of. Unlike the big utility suppliers, we don't waste money on expensive advertising campaigns. Instead, we rely on happy customers telling their friends and family about how great we are!

Why we are a great place to work!

You can leave corporate jargon at the door here at Utility Warehouse and just be yourself. If you want to join a business and team that celebrates you being your best self then we could be just what you are looking for too! We embrace both diversity and inclusivity. So, we’ve built a culture where everyone counts – one where you’ll feel valued and respected.

As an award-winning FTSE 250 company we offer stability, recognition and career progression. Unlike other large companies however, we continue to have a welcoming, family feel. That’s probably why lots of the team who joined us from the beginning are still here.

What we can offer you!

Our HQ is based in Colindale, Edgware. We have fantastic onsite facilities including a subsidised canteen, chill out areas and a very active social calendar. Whether you fancy joining our CEO Andrew Lindsay for breakfast to find out more about what’s going on at UW or you fancy joining some colleagues for a movie night screening in our auditorium – there is something for everyone!

Aside from competitive salaries and great benefits we can offer you a great culture, opportunities for progression and an environment where you can be your best self.

I have been working at The Utility Warehouse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've had some great training and learned a lot about technical and troubleshooting phone and broadband services and I've recently finished a short internship with 2nd line which is built in to the 1st line training programme.

I'm a techie, I've always been interested in how computers work and how to fix issues so with my customer service background, the role is a great fit for me (the recent payrise doesn't hurt either). The people I work with are nice, we have a lot in common which makes for a great working atmosphere.

Management are really friendly and approachable, and most of them started here as tech advisors so they're really great when it comes to talking about next progression steps.

    Cons

Parking can be a bit tight and if you're on the late shift, you'll need to park at the company's second car park which is about five minutes walk down the road.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! You've got a great team here.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Utility Warehouse (London, England) in May 2015.

    Interview

The hiring process included a numerical and verbal reasoning test, which wasnt too difficult at all. followed by a short telephone interview where they asked 10 technical questions, which was quite simple like,ow does a mobile works, what is the first thing to do if a customer complaints his sim isnt working properly etc. After that I was invited for the assessment day including a short assessment and final interview by a board of 3 mebers.
