• We're so excited to see the #feelathome campaign with Michelle Keegan come to life ? Because even in lockdown, we kept on moving! Our innovative creative teams worked with Michelle Keegan to art-direct remotely, making sure we were able to showcase the new range from the comfort and safety of Michelle's own home and garden in our very first ?at home? photoshoot. We think Michelle makes #wfh look super-stylish! What do you think? A brilliant demonstration of one of our five company values come to life. #veryinnovative

The Very Group – Why Work With Us?

Let's recode retail

We've been reinventing the role of technology in shopping experiences for over a century, something we’re super proud of. Technology has played a huge part in helping us transition from a catalogue retailer to a pureplay etailer, but our transformation is far from over.

We want to build the number one shopping destination for shoppers who value credit anywhere online. Innovation is key, we're focussed on using technology to significantly improve customers’ experiences. That means having the right tech, talent and ways of working to deliver what matters most to our customers quickly and effectively.

It’s the perfect time to join us as we continue to shape the way we do things around here; experiencing true agility, loads of support to develop, opportunities to play with the latest tech, and the chance to redefine our apps and make a huge impact on our industry.

We’re building completely new systems where we know we make a difference to our customer – so we need software engineers who have experience of building systems that can support millions of customers.

Our people are not your average people. They’re very important people, and we wouldn't be anywhere without them. That's why we want The Very Group to be the best possible place to work.

And we've been working hard at it. We even won Retail Week’s Employer of the year award. The judges praised us for empowering colleagues, supporting new talent and offering opportunities to young people.

The award meant a lot to us, recognising the hard work that goes into making this a great place to be.

We’re the UK’s largest integrated online retailer and financial services provider, and we’ve been helping customers say yes for over 100 years.

How we serve our customers has transformed over the years, from catalogues to bricks to clicks to mobile. One thing has always remained the same – our customers value flexible ways to pay – and we’re proud to continue to offer them that service to this day through and

Our unique position within three industries makes for engaging work and complex challenges.

In a place where retail, financial services, tech and data all come together, there's always lots going on.

Whilst we have a lot of experience and history behind us, at our heart is a passion for change, to evolve how our four million customers shop and pay for the things they love.

We’re not the finished article, but we do believe we’re ideally placed to achieve our ambitions with your help.

We're a diverse bunch - from tech genius' to creative heroes, but we've got a couple of things that link us all. Our values.

Our values are the way we go about things. They outline the high standards of behaviour and attitude we set ourselves, and expect of each other. They’re the benchmarks by which we hire, promote and reward, and the anchors of our culture.

We're ambitious, driven and innovative.

And that goes for our future operational ambitions too, which is why we’re creating an incredible new distribution and returns centre in the East Midlands.

It's called Skygate.

Skygate is set to be a brilliant place to work, a centrally located world-class fulfilment site with best in class automation technology, and a modern, multi-skilled workforce to go with it.

Our operations team are responsible for turning around 48 million customer orders every year (wow!), ensuring they are distributed at pace, quality and scale. In this team, you'll find operations managers, shift managers, technicians and more, all dedicated to making sure this essential part of our customer journey is world class.

To ensure our operations are delivering even more for the customer, we’re building a new state-of-the-art, 850,000 square foot distribution and returns centre at the East Midlands Gateway, opening in 2020. The site, named Skygate will feature best in class tech, helping us serve our four million Very and Littlewoods customers to shop across the UK, giving them the delivery options they need.

The site will be home to over 500 bright and talented people, so we’ve designed the site with colleague experience at its heart, with everything the teams do underpinned by our purpose, values, fantastic leadership and a diverse and inclusive place to work.

Skygate offers the perfect space to work and play, with wellbeing facilities including an all-weather multi-use games area and break out spaces to connect with brilliant team mates. But that's not all on offer at the site:

  • Flexible shift patterns
  • Multi-faith room
  • Colleague recognition scheme
  • Development that's right for you

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at The Very Group (Dublin, Co. Dublin (Ireland)) in August 2019.

The interview process was really clear and consisted of three stages, the first two stages included my hiring manager and the third stage was a meeting with the MD of the business
