I worked at UNC Asheville full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent educational institution, dedicated professors and wide range of student opportunities.

    Cons

Relentless power struggles in most departments, excessive formality and routine before decisions are made, a bureaucratic nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Management can sometimes be the problem, especially when incompetent people are promoted because they are “yes people”. Sad situation.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at UNC Asheville.

    Interview

Two interviews. First was a phone call, the second in person. Phone call took 30 minutes. The in person interview took 2-3 hours, included interview with committee, tour of the office, and met staff from other departments.
