I worked at UNC Wilmington part-time (More than a year)
The hours are all your own pick. Tasks and job duties are well defined from the start. Support from management is good when you go to them, but you have to go to them with issues before management will do anything about an issue.
You can frequently get stuck at the desk. If your staff has a lot of people that slack off you have to pick up the hours and it can get hard to cover all the shifts at times.
Advice to Management
Get a better feel for your staff and help support the hard workers and help to weed out the people that are slacking.
I applied online. I interviewed at UNC Wilmington (Wilmington, NC (US)) in July 2015.
Easy, fast, basic questions. They did not ask anything out of the ordinary and pretty much asked me more questions about what I had on my resume. The interview only lasted 15 minutes and I got a call a couple hours later that I received the job.
