Unilever – Why Work For Us?

On any day, 2.5 billion people use Unilever products to look good, feel good and get more out of life – giving us a unique opportunity to build a brighter future.

Making sustainable living commonplace

Great products from our range of more than 400 brands give us a unique place in the lives of people all over the world.

When consumers reach for nutritionally balanced foods or indulgent ice creams, affordable soaps that combat disease, luxurious shampoos or everyday household care products, there’s a good chance the brand they pick is one of ours. Seven out of every ten households around the world contain at least one Unilever product, and our range of world-leading, household-name brands includes Lipton, Knorr, Dove, Axe, Hellmann’s and Omo. Trusted local brands designed to meet the specific needs of consumers in their home market include Pureit and Suave.

Whatever the brand, wherever it is bought, we’re working to ensure that it plays a part in helping fulfil our purpose as a business – making sustainable living commonplace.

Our vision

Our vision is to grow our business, while decoupling our environmental footprint from our growth and increasing our positive social impact.

Sense of purpose

Our business has always been driven by a sense of purpose, a thread that connects us to our founding companies and their social missions to improve health, hygiene and livelihoods in their communities.

We continue to believe that business must make a positive contribution to addressing the challenges the world faces and that this is the only way a business will succeed. In 2009, we launched The Compass – our strategy for sustainable growth, setting out our determination to build a sustainable business for the long term.

Sustainability targets

The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, launched in 2010, laid the blueprint for achieving this strategy. We continue to work towards the ambitious targets we have set ourselves for halving our environmental impact, improving the health and wellbeing of 1 billion people, and enhancing the livelihoods of millions.

We will grow our business by building on our strengths – combining our scale and expertise with our understanding of consumers in diverse markets to continue providing brands and services that people want and need. Our sustainable business model is making a difference to millions of people’s lives and to our environmental impact, and we will keep working to make these contributions greater. We’re also already seeing evidence that it is strengthening our business by helping to drive growth and trust, and reduce risk and cost.

We make some of the best known brands in the world, and those brands are present in 98% of households across the UK. Globally our products are used by 2 billion people every day.

I have been working at Unilever full-time (More than a year)

Open friendly workspace with many great colleagues with different backgrounds
Lots of holidays, employee support system and a good bonus sytem

Very structed and sometimes it can take a long time to know how all systems and processes work.
Not always very flexible work environment.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more approachable and open for collaboration with all work levels. Management can also show more support for employee growth and assistance with promotion.

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Unilever (London, England) in November 2017.

A video interview that comprised of questions relating to one's motivations behind applying. However, following the completion of the interview, I received the outcome soon after, indicating that they had not reviewed the entire video response before making their decision.
