I worked at Vungle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked in Vungle's London office for 4.25 years, playing a role in hockey stick shaped revenue growth, headcount growth and product development. I was promoted twice and was able to work on a long and diverse list of projects in addition to my core sales responsibilities. Throughout my tenure, colleagues became friends, working together and celebrating the wins together in pursuit of a shared goal; to deliver on the company's tremendous opportunity in the in-app advertising space.

    Cons

The Sales team travel extensively to client and conference events, so this may be problematic if you prefer an office based role.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the long term revenue opportunities that could provide non-linear growth in years to come.

    Senior Engineer Interview

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Vungle (London, England) in July 2020.

    Interview

It was the longest interview process I've ever done. Initial online call with their recruiter based in San Francisco, followed by a video call with their Tech Hiring Manager based in London to discuss my experience. After that there 3 separate video calls with a London based developer who didn't seem very confident or experienced, and two people in San Francisco, one who was seemed very knowledgeable and who did some live coding questions, and another who seemed clueless about what he was asking and seemed to be stuck in development practices from the year 2010, due to the timezone difference these interviews took place in the evening until 10pm which is not exactly a pleasant experience when you have to work the next day. After that there were yet 3 more video interviews, one with someone based in San Francisco and two with people based in London. Some of the questions were repeated which is to be expected when you speak to so many different people and so many interview stages, there is only so much you can ask a candidate about their experience after all. Some of these calls went well and were enjoyable but some others felt like a waste of time. In some of the interviews there were also live coding tests.
