Wesleyan was founded in Birmingham in 1841 and has a long history of looking forward. The Society provides specialist financial advice to professionals - namely doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers.

Wesleyan's Head Office is based in the heart of Birmingham and sees more than 800 members of staff working across a variety of departments and business units.

Our Sales Relationship Centre staff work from head office, alongside departments including HR, Marketing, IT, Corporate Planning, Risk and Compliance. Colleagues from Wesleyan Bank and Wesleyan Financial Services are also based here.

Our head office offers a friendly, open environment in which staff are encouraged to make a difference.



Our award-winning Field Team consists of 300+ Financial Consultants that provide specialist advice and solutions to GPs, Hospital Doctors, Lawyers and Teachers across the UK.

We focus on what's right for our clients and are committed to offering the best service and financial solutions possible - which is why we provide intensive training and ongoing support to all our Financial Consultants.

To be considered for one of our Financial Consultant vacancies, you must be QCF Level 4 qualified.

We're always looking for ambitious, determined and enthusiastic individuals to be a part of our award winning Apprenticeship Scheme. 

Since the programme began in 2010, more than 60 young professionals have joined us working in departments across the business, including Marketing, IT, Finance, HR and many more!

Our scheme provides all apprentices with full support and training through on the job learning, working with our Learning and Development team and coaching from their manager. Each apprentice also has a mentor who will provide guidance and support throughout the 18 month scheme, before they graduate and many go on to secure a permanent position at Wesleyan. 



Wesleyan's CEO Dr Craig Errington said, 

"Our Apprentices are now an integral part of our recruitment process, enabling us to bring young talent into the business and develop them into various roles.

"I've followed their progress over the years and seen them flourish and build careers here and I'm sure this latest intake will prove to be just as successful."

    I have been working at Wesleyan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    *Collegiate and friendly culture.
    *A company that genuinely cares.
    *Autonomy to make my role my own.
    *Some great L&D opportunities if you are proactive to put yourself forward.
    *Employees are encouraged to get involved with charity or community work.
    *Positive focus on inclusion and diversity this year - I believe it will continue.
    *My boss is flexible, supportive and encourages me to strike the right work life balance.
    *Interesting work to do and lots of positive change happening.
    *Really nice people working here - I think of many of them as friends.

    Cons

    *Benefits package is ok but not as competitive as other local employers.
    *Some ‘lifers’/naysayers who take the place for granted and love to moan/whinge!
    *Could be more flexible as Presenteeism is still valued over quality output.

    Advice to Management

    HR colleagues could listen and engage more.

    Would be great to see execs and senior leaders on the floors more often.

    Be positive - there’s lots to be optimistic about and people are looking to you to set the tone!

    Pretty slick setting up interviews and onboarding, with good communications and a friendly recruiter. Submitted CV online, initial interview covered hygiene factors, second interview included a presentation. Friendly interviewers. Gave positive impression.
