Whitworths is constantly evolving and every single member of staff from Leadership down to the lower levels shows an equal passion to be the best. Everyone works well cross-functionally and the Leadership team takes the time to ensure all are briefed on the latest business updates which helps to make everyone feel involved.
people are valued at Whitworths and good work/achievements are acknowledged and rewarded. Career progression is actively encouraged within the business so you genuinely have the opportunity to start at the bottom and work your way up if you are prepared to put the work in!
More importantly - absolutely everyone is nice!
There has been some major changes over the last couple of years due to the Business changing hands and the installation of a new ERP system, along with some cost saving initiatives such as the un-manned Reception which has at times made people's jobs harder than they have to be.
Deadlines and timings are often tight due to the nature of the business so you need to be able to cope under pressure as conditions can often be stressful (though this does not affect the atmosphere in the workplace).
Advice to Management
Bring back a manned Reception as I feel it is costing time and money by not having one. I have seen several examples of people spending double what they need to on sending samples to customers because the cheaper option takes longer to process and in this busy environment time is precious!
I also find that the Reception is not always presentable as there is nobody there to manage the area (spilled beverages by visitors/abandoned parcels etc)
