In the words of our founder, ‘people don’t join a company. They join a mission’. And ours is big. Current banking systems don’t let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply. So we’re building a new one. Our mission is to make money without ...
Mission: Money without borders - instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.

We’re powering money for people and businesses in their increasingly global lives - to pay, to get paid, to spend, in any currency, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing.

Company Updates

July 26, 2021
You might have heard that we became a public company. But today, like any other day, this is the number we’re focusing on. £150 billion — that’s how much people and businesses are still losing sending money with the slow, old systems, and their hidden fees. So today’s a big day, but we still have a long way to go. £150 billion worth of way to go. #MissionUnfinished

Pros

I always say TransferWise is like a new company every 6 months - we’re scaling so fast. That means new projects, challenges and development opportunities all the time. Despite the chaotic nature of

Cons

Growing at scale is tiring. Things need to be built from scratch. Many of the tools you’d have had at your finger tips in previous people team roles need building. You can’t tell people to help you

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wise (London, England, England) in Feb 2021

    Interview

This was a four stage process. First up a 45-minute screener with the recruiter, then an hour-long behavioural examples interview with a peer, then an hour-long case study review with 4 people (UX research lead, senior product designer, engineering team lead and product manager). The final stage was a call with the Design Director. The recruiter kept me in the loop all the way through with quick feedback and booking in for next stage. I had good instructions on what to expect and how to prepare. I got rejected after the case study review but was grateful for the feedback from all four panellists. They were spot on in their feedback - I had already come to the same conclusions myself that Transferwise was not the right place for me. I enjoyed the experience of all the stages - the people I met were friendly, interested and well-prepared.
