I have been working at Wm Morrison Supermarkets part-time (More than 3 years)
Wage is currently £8.20 per hour across most shop floor roles, rising to £8.50 from April 2017. This is one of the highest of the major supermarkets. There is some colleague bonus, but it is vanishingly small. The better bonuses are the 10% off staff card and a slightly better than average employee pension scheme whereby if you sacrifice 5% of your pay to the scheme, Morrisons will add another 11%.
Full time contracts are rare as they work on the principal that if they only give short contract hours, then employees will be so desperate for extra hours that they can snap their fingers and we will jump. It is unlikely to be suitable for someone trying to raise a family unless they are the second bread winner. Suits mums and semi-retired people best.
Advice to Management
Treat colleagues with respect and they will work harder. Carrot, not stick.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Wm Morrison Supermarkets (London, England).
Interview was easy, first couple of test done and after phone interview, I been invite to have chat with personal manager around 1h and then interview with store manager for another 30 min.
The best option is to be confident and say and be brave, research how is average pay at Morrisons and ask above average small chance you will get it but then you will meet on golden middle with negotiation !
Congratulations to our Counters assistant Anushka ‘Nush’ Naanayakkara from Stone who won a BAFTA on Sunday night! Nush won the award for Best British Short Animation in 2017 for ‘A Love Story’ and on receiving the award, http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ5Ub
