    Interview

    Applied online, and was contacted promptly by one of the co-founders. We set up a call for the following day.

    The call was interesting and engaging, and there seemed to have been a click. The co founder raised a suggestion that the job title and spec would be adjusted to reflect my seniority, to which I responded that I do not care about the title. I applied for the role and company, not the title.

    He was keen to progress and told me that he would be in touch on the same day in the afternoon, and we would take it from there.

    I have not heard back from him for a week until I received an email saying that they chose not to continue with my application.

    In response I asked for some feedback as is common practice for candidates who have already entered the hiring process, only to have my email ignored.

    Overall I enjoyed the discussion, but was highly disappointed by the lack of respect and professionalism. It is absolutely acceptable to change your mind about a candidate, but communication, transparency and feedback should be key.
