Brilliant news for Besafe as the business picks up LADA’s Commercial Laundry of the Year award.
Awarded to those who excel in overall performance and customer service, the winner of the Commercial Laundry of the Year award also demonstrates improvements and innovative ways to grow their business.
Congratulations and well done to all involved!
Following the success of our first live business update call our CEO, David, recently delivered our strategy and framework for the future.
The update was live from Caerphilly and we made it available for everyone to see via video conferencing and recorded it and made available on our Intranet for those who missed it.
We look forward for the next update to see how things are progressing, thank you David.
Who we are
phs – life inside the yellow lozenge
You may have seen our vans on the road throughout the UK as we head off to service our 90,000 customers in more than 300,000 locations.
We’re the largest hygiene services company in the UK providing washroom services to businesses everywhere. We cover everything from hand sanitisers to sanitary bins and clean air solutions.
Our specialist division also provides a range of services from innovative planting for any office space, to crate rental, balers and compacters, compliance testing and pre-decorated Christmas trees.
What we do
We take a partnership approach to working with our customers; identifying solutions that deliver an overall net benefit, providing a safer and healthier workplace that saves money and energy and has less impact on the environment that we live and work in.
Our range of environmentally responsible products and services include water saving tap fittings, recycled matting and LifeCycle - the UK’s first environmentally responsible solution for the disposal of hygiene waste products, sanitary waste products and incontinence products.
Our people make phs a business that we’re all proud to work for. It’s the quality and commitment of the people who work for phs that make us successful. We invest in recruiting, retaining and developing people who will bring a customer-centric approach to our organisation and add real value to what we do. Due to the size and diverse nature of our business, there are always opportunities to move within the company, learn new skills and help to develop other colleagues.
Why join us
We’re driving innovation and change in our industry, focusing on the sustainability challenges that matter most to our customers and their customers. Our new LifeCycle process is helping to limit the UK’s dependence on landfill for absorbent hygiene products (nappies, sanitary waste and incontinence products), turning the waste into refuse derived fuel (RDF) to create a reliable source of energy for industry. LifeCycle is central to our commitment to develop and promote innovative and environmentally responsible solutions within our sector.
Helping our communities
We’re a people business and we’re keen to support the people in the communities that we are a part of. We support annual UK charity events and offer team match-funding to help the causes that matter to our colleagues. We provide a platform to support charities that have a natural link to what we do.
Period Poverty is a serious issue that’s affecting women and girls today in the towns and cities that we live in. As a UK wide company, and the market-leader for managing the disposal of sanitary waste products, we’re keen to help raise the profile of the work being done by different charities to help.
Over the coming months, we’ll also be looking at the different ways that we can get involved to help make a difference.
Our core values form the foundation of our culture, brand and the way we work at PHS.
Therefore when defining our values, we thought it was important to reflect the thoughts and experiences of our people. For this reason, we involved everyone in the process which meant it was our employees who chose our four values.
This process has worked well and generated a wealth of examples of best practice and new ideas about how we can continue to improve and grow.
Everyday we work to reflect these values in everything we do, for example, ‘PHS Stars’ is our employee recognition program where we ask our people to nominate colleagues who have gone above and beyond, to be recognised and rewarded.
We provide washroom, healthcare and floor hygiene services that meet the everyday challenges of being human. We’re proud of the work we do to help our customers provide safe, comfortable and hygienic premises for their employees and customers.
We’re the largest waste management and facilities services company in the UK, also providing a range of specialist services to 90,000 customers in 300,000 locations. We’re next door. Everywhere.
We’re driving innovation and change in our industry, focusing on the sustainability challenges that matter most to our customers and their customers. Our new LifeCycle process is helping to limit the UK’s dependence on landfill for absorbent hygiene products (nappies, sanitary waste and incontinence products), turning the waste into refuse derived fuel (RDF) to create a reliable source of renewable energy for industry. LifeCycle is central to our commitment to develop and promote innovative and environmentally responsible solutions within our sector.
Our people are at the heart of our continued success. If you choose to join us, we’ll teach you everything that you need to know to enjoy and succeed in your role.
When you’re ready for new challenges, there are always opportunities to move within the company due to the size and diverse nature of our business.

I have been working at phs Group full-time (More than a year)
Having only worked for PHS for a few years they are the best in the industry. If you work hard this will be noticed and rewarded and progression is something that is readily available if you work hard and want to progress.
Everyone works as a team across all departments and everyone wants everyone to succeed, in all my sales roles previously it has been pretty cutthroat and somewhat lonely, but this is not the case at PHS
I've loved every second of working for PHS. Companies in the past have promoted based on a "who you know" mentality but at PHS everyone is given equal opportunities.
One small negative and this is me being picky, is that as I work in the field for 9 hours a day It would be nice if we could have small lunch allowance as clearly not having access to a kitchen or a canteen can prove quite on a monthly basis.
Advice to Management
Without exception every manager I have had has always been supportive
I applied in-person. I interviewed at phs Group (London, England) in April 2016.
The interview was very informative, they were very honest and straight to the point about what the job entitles. Ask a lot about what you want to do in the future.
