I worked at 4Com full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good incentives, now brought back the cars (A1)

    Cons

The Sales Director doesn’t have any people skills nor sales skills. You have constant tests and feel that there is no job security. The staff are constantly turning round and hence why they are always recruiting. Free lunches are rare. The environment is not very professional and they like to humiliate their staff. There is little encouragement and are regularly made to stay on after you are meant to have finished. Any staff who have been fired have not been given any warnings. If you have a family to support or any financial commitments this job is not for you. Would suit young individuals perhaps living at home with little or no outgoings.

I worked at 4Com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Team members, Smoothies twice a week, Unlimited free hot drinks, Friendly and approachable Team Leader and Manager. Social environment, your made to feel included from the beginning and was lots to get involved in. Initial Training is good when i had it although they made that role redundant since. Flexible with staff will allow you to move teams if the availability is there and you want something different after you have proved yourself.

    Cons

They were having a massive recruitment drive when i started, constantly hiring new people and expanding teams, it didn't last very long as this year they made 50+ people redundant with no warning, although in my personal view it was coming. They had maybe 3 tiers of 'management' for each team. team Leader, Manager and a director and in previous experience too many roles at a higher level means they will be the first to go when cuts need to happen. They made nearly every 'middle manager/ director' redundant even ones that had worked their for 15 years. They don't have all the incentives as advertised, the company car policy has been removed for new starters, The free lunches never happen, the team day out never appeared in the time i was there for our team anyway (some teams get better treatment than others). Directors don't seem to care about the staff at all, your job is never safe. You do have to take work home with you to make sure it is done even if they say you don't need to at the beginning everyone ends up doing it.

I have been working at 4Com full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They pay well, but it's easy come easy go. Prepare to walk on eggshells every day, and god help you if you have divergent opinions than that of the management, some of the people who were made redundant learned this lesson the hard way!

    Cons

4Com as it stands now is not the same company that won the "Best company to work for" award. Look behind the smokescreen. 4Com won "Best company to work for" recently, mostly in part to offering major benefits like company cars for all staff and free lunches. When voting came around all the staff were "whipped" into voting for the company to win. After they won the award they cut the perks! Took away the free lunches and the much lauded company cars. They then followed this up by making over 50 staff redundant (Google for it!) , comprising of veteran staffers, individuals and their spouses and their relatives. Clearly a cold calculated cut by the execs. There was zero warning, no chance to prepare. A normal working day descended into heartbreak and shock and all the staff were collectively dismissed. My heart goes out to the family units left without an income in a flash of a moment. The fact that, proceeding their callous handling of the situation, they still laud the "Best company to work for" award to lure in unsuspecting talent is stomach churning. You should see their carpark after hours! Over 50 Audis now without drivers, the cars are eerily just sitting there deprecating, as a grim reminder and a fitting allegory to the managements ineptitude. The icing on the cake for 4Com? Their product, the "HiHi" phone, is an Android tablet. The device is utterly insecure! All their HiHi devices are delivered to the customers rooted and can be accessed via Google ADB tools!
