  • Brain numbing - call after call so repetitive (in 3 reviews)

    Pros

Big company offers job security and lots of support

    Cons

    Can become 'just a number'

I worked at AA Cars full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the people are amazing
    Free tea and coffee
    Subsidised canteen
I'm struggling to fill my 20 word minimum here

    Cons

Company which doesn't care about it's employees you are just a number in a machine no matter how hard you work
    Everyone is disheartened
Make stupid choices around relocating departments then moving them back and retraining them, them closing it again. People can't make a decision to save their lives
Communication is awful. Three separate people were working on the same project once unnecessarily because none communicates anything and the system to distribute communication is nor fit for purpose. Brings up communications from ten years ago which is irrelevant
Pay is ridiculous. Over ten years there I got hardly any more than when I started.

    Advice to Management

fibs someone like Chris j. Someone who can motivate the staff again and makes it feel like real change is possible.

    Pros

    Some nice people
    Work isn't that tough

    Cons

Huge amount of knowledge lost in recent redundancies. Run by idiots.
    Little interesting work left.
Any colleagues may soon be made redundant.

    Advice to Management

Sell up to someone who cares. You are killing the company.

    Pros

Great Brand, passionate about its field and has passionate and knowledegable staff

    Cons

Senior mgmt lack of engagement, over-reliance on management consultants resulting in key staff being removed without thought of consequences. Lack of coherent processes means that knowledge is lost. No central communications or voice.

    Advice to Management

Make this company a nice place to work again, focus on just a few core things and do those well with the resources they need.

Continuity - give the company and its emloyees a sense of continuity the company has been through too many changes over the past few years. communicate.

Talk to and engage with your employees.

I worked at AA Cars full-time

    Pros

Great colleagues and the working environment is decent and the equipment seemed fairly reliable. Managers are quite approachable with minor exceptions

    Cons

They've invested too much on a cheesy campaign to try and convince costumers to stay with the company. Hard to stay positive when every cell in your brain suggests otherwise.

    Advice to Management

Needs to be more open and transparent with customer and call handlers should be rewarded more fairly.

I have been working at AA Cars full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good salary potential but you need to give up your life

    Cons

Constant pressure on Patrols to sell more fix more, do more hours.
Management do not listen and have poor bully tactic approach to staff
Company run by a bully's with no idea of what it is like as a Patrol

    Advice to Management

Get real and quickly, stop treating your staff like like numbers and realise we have life's and family's too, we can only work so hard for so long.
Boost moral for your staff before a big walk out of Patrols happens.

    Cons

Worked like robots and expected to take call after call.
Poor pay for hours and shifts you have to do.
No room for progression, managers don't move on.

    Treat staff like humans

I worked at AA Cars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The salary I receive is above average for the job I do. My chair spins... that's about it.

    Cons

Will try to keep this brief:

-Very corrupt senior managers only interested where money or numbers are concerned

    - Very little concern or care for the staff working on front line, customer service or complaints

    - The CEO is a mysoginistic, old fashioned Brexit supporter who gets upset when he can't go fishing on a Monday (this must be very distressing for him)

    - I have never known a company treat their customer service staff so poorly. And rather than try to train them they manage them out when they are no longer required or useful.

    - My colleague was made to take holiday after his mother died despite our contracts saying otherwise, but don't worry because "courtesy and care" is the company motto!!

    - the patrols do an amazing job but they too are often treated poorly by senior management, being forced to sell parts that aren't needed by the customers. And then get managed out.

    Advice to Management

This is a huge company but you need to focus on what's best for staff and customers rather than cost cutting.

    Cons

management not interested in building up their teams potential, a lot of focus on targets rather than treating customers fairly.
little benefits or perks with the job especially for long-standing staff.
    inflexible

    Advice to Management

rather than focusing on the profits of the business, there should be more consideration for employees wellbeing and health. stress levels very high in the job.
