I have been working at AAA Club Alliance part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Constant available overtime
    School reimbursement
    Free premier membership
    Friendly environment

very easy job to learn and the main applications are modern and easyto use

    Cons

    Constant high call volume
Agents basically fight to just make sure there isn't a long hold time for members
difficult metrics to excel especially if you wear more than one hat.
decent pay but be could be more. especially with growing responsibility

on top of dealing with anxious and stressed members the alliance club covers 11 states and 7 of the top 50 major cities, such as Philly, Baltimore, Indianapolis, D.C., Oklahoma city etc, so you'll be talking with members the whole day. slow days are rare.

    Advice to Management

Every desk needs two screens. some dont

constant update and list of phone numbers and networks for agents

strengthen GPS location. sometimes it's James bond accurate other times it's in the wrong state.

keep employees upbeat happy so they can make the members happy

I have been working at AAA Club Alliance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pros this job pays very well they train you and it is for the most part a family company.

    Cons

Cons is you need to schedule PTO it first come first serve and there is shift bidding. So if your number are low there a good chance you may not get a shift at all if you don't apply for a lot.

    Advice to Management

make PTO open no matter what and open new call center to take some of load off the other workers.

I have been working at AAA Club Alliance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free AAA membership. 2 weeks of PTO available after 90 day probationary period. Travel and attraction ticket discounts.

    Cons

Working in any call center is demanding which is to be expected. However in the Travel Contact Center the stress does not come from the members on the other line, it comes from management. Bully tatics are used to force employees to give up days off to accommodate the high turn over rate they have in this department. Management is condescending and expects their employees to take the verbal abuse thrown at them. There is no work life balance if you need a day off or have to call out expect a warning note from the higher ups in this department.

    Advice to Management

If your stuck on why you can't keep millennials, take a look at your department heads. The days of controlling employees with intimdation tactics are over. Supervisors should be able to assist agents when the phones are backed up, none of your supervisors know how to book in smartpoint. How do you expect associates to grow if their supervisors can't train them? Fire and then hire people who truly have a passion for travel and the business.

    Pros

I worked with some great folks, truly dedicated to highest standard of customer satisfaction.

    Cons

The pay structure and the fact that our compensation became somewhat dependent on our members completing paper surveys sent to them via snail mail.

    Pros

Great benefits. Great values within the company. The Travel division understands the value of FAM trips and yearly meeting of all travel agents that build camaraderie and education from our travel partners.

    Cons

Some middle management out of touch with front line employees.

I have been working at AAA Club Alliance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Free food on holidays and excessively busy days plus unlimited overtime if that's your gig.

    Cons

The ratio of minorities in entry level positions to those in management/executive level positions is a travesty. If you are white, then you're alright. If you're black then you stay back.

    Advice to Management

Clean house, especially in the HR department, and instill affirmative action standards.

I worked at AAA Club Alliance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked for AAA for six years. In that time I had several opportunities for growth, several opportunities for travel, and decent pay.

    Cons

    Benefits:
First, AAA has insurance, but it comes at a high premium. Other benefits are standard at best, including paid time off and supplementary Insurance. They offer no maternity leave benefit, so you are forced to claim short term disability.

    Political:
Aside from the mediocre benefits, AAA is nothing but a corporate, political war zone. Rarely did I have an opportunity to actually perform my job duties. I was constantly navigating the political landscape of the company, trying to figure out exactly whom I could talk to about what, when, and through what channel. I was often disciplined for making the wrong decision. As a middle manager, I had very little oversight of my employees and also very little impact on leadership decisions. I was also in a situation where I was working remotely, and this organization has a very poor support system in place for work-from-home employees.

    Change=Loss:
It is important to understand that AAA has and continues to go through significant organizational changes and has had hundreds of layoffs in the last 18 months. Because of this degree of change, the morale is quite low.

    No Exit Strategy:
Finally, they have no offboarding process; after giving my notice there were very few exit tactics including no exit interview and no access to my 401(k) accounts for transfer.

    All feedback is certainly welcomed.
One clarification: ACA is growing and is not laying off valued Associates.
