The President of the company changed twice in my 3 years there. That should say enough, But I will say more.
No possibility in moving up. Management is not concerned with helping employees reach their goals and succeed. The name of the game is to turn around units as fast as possible. Test equipment is decades old, and they will jerry-rig whatever they have to avoid buying new equipment and doing things the right way. The company was sold to an investment firm, and it was a clear shift in culture and values for the worse.
Before the pandemic happened, I had interviewed and accepted another job at a different company. In order to keep me there, I was promised a raise and new position, however when the pandemic affected us and I would inquire as to the status of the promotion, it was pushed off and pushed off until one day I was furloughed and ultimately laid off. I believe they had no intention of actually seeing the promotion through and wanted to just keep me there as I was a lead technician. And this was after giving a months' notice, not 2 weeks.
Chief inspector Victor Resch (Who is now at Ventura in Farmingdale) liked to play blame games and play all actions down like he was doing his job when, in reality he would walk around all day bothering workers. He was what made this job unbearable but this being my first job out of college, I wanted to work there as long as possible. He plays favorites and would discipline certain technicians differently from others when mistakes would happen.
No appreciation for employees at all.
They had an incentive program to bring average time on units down. I brought a unit down from 6hrs-3hrs work time rather easily and I was scolded by senior technicians because I "made them look bad" by improving work time. They were then looked at and asked why these units were taking so long to repair and that's when I was scolded. It's not my fault they got paid to sit back and relax for 20 years.
When the location in Freeport closed they were trying to convince workers to relocate to Oklahoma City. They had some rather interesting tactics to "convince" certain employees to make the move.
The company moved 401Ks and also changed their contribution percentage. A paper was handed out to all employees that explained this and was dated for that same day. While reading we see that the change was made a month prior. Then the secretary (Margarita) came and collected the papers again just to white out the date and date it for a month prior!! (I guess to prove we were told about it when it first happened).
This company plays NASTY GAMES and I would never recommend anyone go to them for any type of work at any capacity what-so-ever.
