    I worked at ADT Security Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    There are a lot of good people trying their best. Many are from a time when ADT was a good company.

    Cons

    No training, no parts, no customer service. You’ll be embarrassed on a daily basis by calls from upset customers. The new command has so many issues. Now they will be selling DIY first Meeting after meeting after meeting with no real training.

    I have been working at ADT Security Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Create your own schedule. Good commission rates. Good health insurance rates.

    Cons

    Local branch management is very out of touch. Appointments flow is very poor and many appointments are a waste of time. Call center makes appointments on wrong day and / or with clients who don't even want appointments. Since it is commission only this is a huge source of frustration. Appointments are made for sales with little to no commission potential then large scale jobs are sold by phone which supposedly isn't supposed to happen. You can sell a job and then the tech can go to do the install and talk the customer out of it and there goes your commission. Expected to get self generated sales but lead flow is very weak and poor. Not what I expected at all. Very disappointed how things are ran. Also the car allowance and mileage system is a joke. The car issue alone has me searching out new job opportunities.

    Pros

    Literally, nothing positive to say about this company

    Cons

    Despite anything, management tells you. By accepting this job you have decided you are a door to door salesman. Did not start this way, new management in the last few years has run this company reputation into the ground. No more company appointments, they expect you to sell all your family and then become a door to door salesman. 100% commission, job that requires you to work 6 days a week. Just a matter of time for the lawsuit. Same goes for Chatsworth and Anaheim offices. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. You will burn through your savings.

    I worked at ADT Security Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Compensation per sold job was good. Worked with affluent clients in homes valued over one million dollars. I had good production and was recognized as the top Rookie Sales Rep in the company.

    Cons

    Canned sales pitch known as "the Model Sales Call" must be adhered to leaving little creativity in the hands of the Rep facing the customer. High pressure from management to close the deal on the first sales call forced an approach that turned-off a large percentage of possible clients. Toughest competition was with small companies that worked with ADT directly as "Authorized Agents'. These company sold systems to the end-user at lower rates and with better promotions than I could offer as an ADT employee (customers were shocked by this and so was I). ADT would then buy the monitoring contract from the Authorized Dealer, essentially cutting their sales employees out of the deal while still winning the monitoring contract. This was very frustrating to the ADT employed Sales Rep as well as the client (due to warranty finger pointing after the installation-who fixes any issue that arises the Authorized Dealer or ADT?). The company promotes a level of customer service for these affluent customers that goes above and beyond the normal client residing in a lower value home. This promise is unfortunately not kept due to the fact that the same installation and service teams ultimately perform the system installations with the same pressures for productivity and closing out of projects. Authorized Dealers try to make their clients think that they are dealing with ADT directly, rather than solely as the company monitoring their system. Don't take my word for this though since you can watch their commercials on TV and see them in print media as well. Lots of sales attrition.

    Great brand name. Industry leader

    Cons

    Hard to work for a manager/management that continues to demoralize and demean sales team What I've seen and lived through over the last 2-3 years I can't honestly with good faith refer anyone to work at ADT Manager style makes most of the sales team want to transfer or even quit. 5 people on sales team quit with the last 6 months.

    I worked at ADT Security Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Fantastic benefits, including tuition reimbursement. Room for job advancements. Thorough and effective hands on training. Readily available resources to do your job.

    Cons

    Management is less than efficient. Terrible culture, with so many bad attitudes which led to more than one physical altercation on the floor. The atmosphere is dirty and lacks class and decor.

    I worked at ADT Security Services

    Pros

    Great boss, benefits were pretty good with matching 401k, and good autonomy to make my own day. Few meetings vs the other teams, ability to sell all products residential and commercial.

    Cons

    They now credit check. Company is working towards 100% company leads going to authorized dealers and making corporate employees find their own business. Not much management support. Constant turn over with installers. They don't provide the service level being pitched to clients. Spend half the day begging the company to fix your deals. More expensive than the competition even for lower level systems. Gold team charges about 20% more for the exact same thing for both install and monthly rate. Wouldn't be so bad if they actually had the ability to provide the enhanced service they are selling but they can't do it if they even really wanted to. No advantage for buyers in the "Gold" branch vs Blue. They are driving a system that is better suited to an apt or small home regardless if it's a larger home that needs a different system. Billing is a constant screw up. The more clients you get, the more time in your day is spent trying to manage the problems. Get's old.
