      Pros

Overall good place to work. Has done a great job managing through current COVID situation. Upper management is engaged and approachable.

      Cons

There can be a lot of requests for data from upper management but that is to be expected

      Unrealistic expectations

      Pros

There are still good people left in local branches.

      Cons

Communication between upper management and local branches doesn't exist. HR NEVER answers emails. Every quarter employees are lied to that more help is going to be hired but what ends up happening is 0 people get hired and more people end up leaving as they can't handle the workload. Ametek is numbers driven, employeed are just numbers that mean nothing. Health insurance is rubbish and although employees used to have a Christmas party every year as well as company picnic, with Ametek all that is gone. Employees have 0 motivation and Ametek is doing absolutley nothing to address the issues employees have, instead, they are focusing on working employees even harder to meet the quarterly numbers.

Has potential but lack of direction

      Pros

Workplace culture is good (outside of Corporate). Staff is friendly and works well as a team.

      Cons

Has potential but due to constant upper management changes there is an inability to stick to a plan and see if it succeeds. Very little room to grow professionally. Lots of work but 0 recognition or reward. Upper Management demands a lot in order to reach their "goals" but does little to support its inner management in the process. This company has the right people but will continue to lose employees if they don't utilize the talent within and continue to focus on short term goals.

      Pros

Locally good people that want to be successful.

      Cons

Upper management not proactive in addressing issues and funding has not been provided over a number of years to make necessary improvements. Limited preventative maintenance is able to be completed due to money constraints, management seems to be ok with breakdowns and employees are not trained properly, resulting in costly mistakes. Company focuses on the short term bottom line to protect their personal bonuses and they continue to communicates to the employees that they have not made a profit in several years.

Excellent dedicated production team, but revolving door in management

      Pros

Production team (assy and test) all have worked there for 10+ years and are the most dedicated people I have encountered. They are very knowledgable and willing to work hard to meet production goals.

      Cons

If you are a temp, they take a long time to convert to permanent status (if they decide to convert you.) There is always turnover in upper management which makes things difficult. Each person comes in with different metrics, requirements and expectations and it felt like we had to start over each time a new manager stepped in.

      Don't Waste Your Time!

      Pros

Professional, easy going environment. Nice staff. Pay was great, that is about it.

      Cons

Over-worked, underpaid, micro managed to the hilt. The wage paid was not worth the work expected. Their expectations were far greater than that of the position they hired for. They have a high turnover rate in all positions in all of the company and it is due to the Big Brother Corporate Giant that looks over their shoulders at every waking moment, and the managers both supervisors and upper-management do not know how to run a business, but are very good at holding unnecessary meetings that take people away from their daily tasks and further drives sales south for the business. It is unconscionable to not provide the proper training to your employees that they deserve. Perhaps if the business could provide supplies that the employee needs to function in their job, they wouldn't have disgruntled staff. This place runs VERY LEAN and that means every aspect. This company has minimal staff to accomplish tasks, meaning they require lots of overtime to get the jobs done. This company does not provide the tools necessary to function in their job, so it is only a matter of time before someone gets tired of it and leaves. Also, when they hired me for the position, the job turned out to be something completely different than expected. Seems to happen a lot there. They say "we are a family", but you really need to watch your back.

      Unsafe Environment

      Pros

If you want easy money work here. There are no penalties for missing deadlines. There are also no penalties for missing work or leaving early.

      Cons

Greedy upper management always tries to accept new contracts. If a contract were to be miraculously offered, the company will NOT hire new resources or purchase new equipment for that matter. Employees are stacked with many projects - no one ever gets to complete things on time. No employee appreciation. Lack of HR (part time HR) allows for many HR cases to drag on and on. They hired 1 HR for 2 locations. Not to mention 1 IT guy for 3 locations. Nothing ever gets done from those 2 departments. Speaking of HR cases dragging on and on, there was one case where an employee was supposed to be let go due to his actions in March but wasn't released until September/November because the lack of HR. After being let go, current employees joked around about him coming back and SHOOTING the place up. Nope. Had to get out of there. There was also ANOTHER former employee that threatened to shoot up the place so Ametek had to hire an armed security guard to patrol the area. High turnover rate. Disgruntled employees leave after poor support from management. They leave projects unfinished and with poor documentation. New employee comes in and has to figure everything out from scratch. Huge waste of time. Huge waste of money. And the cycle just goes on and on and on. Poor equipment. Motto is quantity over quality and that concludes in many many poor parts that are reworked in process. Imagine that, your aerospace parts REWORKED multiple times.

      Pros

Family atmosphere. Promotes a fun, team oriented working environment. Rapidly growing. Many employees who have worked at this company for many years. Clean work environment.

      Cons

This organization was recently purchased by a larger "publically traded" company. Upper management is more concerned with making, by any means, production numbers, ("their" bonus), than maintaining the quality of the products or integrity of their methods.
