I have been working at AO Foundation (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Please do not come to work in this hell!

    Cons

    Ridiculous Management
    Money laundering organisation
    Highly political
    Depressive place to work
Once you come here it is almost impossible to find a company willing to recruit you, due to the bad reputation of AO

    Advice to Management

Change the entire management structure and the current Foundation strategy
    Be more honest and ethical
Do not exploit honest middle and low management. The do all the dirty work to allow Directors to do the nice life!!!

    Pros

You meet interesting surgeons and cultures, a nice possibility if you love that. You can enjoy travelling (also with your partner) and seeing nice places and hotels.

    Cons

Permanent changing strategy, highly political environment, wasting money in the name of medicine, useless HR, if you don‘t fit into their mind-set - watch out!

    Advice to Management

    Start watching your staff!

    Pros

Very open minded and reliable foundation with a solid background and a bright future. Nice offices and good personnel

    Cons

To much narrow minded leading of the single units. No one is so important that you can not work as a unit

    Advice to Management

Don't sit on the money and be more open to new ideas and projects.

    Pros

Best place to work in Davos. Easy, no-stress, pretty-flexible. Good work-life balance

    Cons

Politics. If you are OK to become a part of a system, then it is a place.

I worked at AO Foundation full-time

    Pros

Great opportunity for travel and high-impact work, real fun working with the surgeon community, exciting work, ambitious

    Cons

Don't expect work life balance, political, unprofessional, stagnant with some ideas and strategies, disorganized, dep. on which department you are in and who your Manager is, you are at their mercy, HR supports Management not the employees

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and have a more consistent approach

I worked at AO Foundation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Mountains. Snow. Sun.
Multi-disciplinary teams, variety of research, advice from all of the world.
Feel great to help and contribute in helping people.

    Cons

Not the place to work if you are not German speaking, Italian or French.
For Non-Europeans it is even worse.
It is not the place for people who want to grow in their career, or expand their horizon.
If you can put your head down, and just be a highly qualified technician, its good.
Can you follow communist ideology, perfect for you.
If you are getting employed, ask the turnover of permanent and temp. employees, in their department and group.

    Advice to Management

Please have some empathy towards non-European staff. HR in general is a joke, and are in place to protect the employer, and not for employee benefit. Why do you have such a high turnover of people?

I worked at AO Foundation full-time

    Pros

    Advice to Management
