      Pros

      Lots of opportunities for advancement, flexible schedules (results oriented), outstanding benefits package, positive culture, exciting work at cutting edge of higher ed

      Cons

      Although the culture is positive and inclusive, there is a tendency to attract workaholics. Long hours are expected at senior levels. Many positions are grant funded and eliminated when funding dries up.

      Pros

      APLU has many layers of diversity. As a whole, the organization and staff are committed to long-term, sustainable diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization (internally and externally). APLU has AMAZING benefits. It's a great place to launch your career, gain professional development, learn, and get exposure to many different industries within higher ed (there are probably more than you think--especially if you haven't worked in higher ed before). Opportunities for growth, especially if you're interested in a career in association work or higher ed long term. Good people who care about doing good work.

      Cons

      It's a small/medium size non-profit, so it's possible to outgrow the organization, but not really not a bad thing. The organization and the experience gained set people up to succeed in whatever is next. Have seen this time and time again.
