Pros

The people are nice and it's a young environment.

Cons

--The company rating is high because your coworkers are all pretty nice, and because Acquirent asks you to write a review for them while you're working there.-- The recruiters BLATANTLY misrepresent commissions. The recruiters are salespeople who make commission by getting people hired. The company makes money from the clients every day that you're there just filling a seat (in addition to a portion of your commission, which is to be expected). Because of this, they will say whatever it takes to get a candidate to accept a position once they think you're worth offering it to, but DO NOT BELIEVE their "estimates." Multiple accounts at Acquirent have all expressed that they were told their commission would be one thing and then later told another. Some accounts had their commission structures negatively changed AFTER signing their contracts and working the accounts. If after reading this, you're still dumb enough to accept a position there, if the recruiter tells you "you're going to make -this- much" ask for proof. If you're hired on a pre-existing account, ask to find out how much commission each member that is on that team is currently making. (Ask that AFTER they pitch you a number, so you can cross-check them. Then if you get hired, ask each of those people if that number is true.) Ask if the client is allowed to change your commission structure AFTER you're hired or if you're guaranteed AT LEAST what you are promised at signing. (Several people I worked with had promises in their contracts that were later removed due to recruiter error.) If you're hired for a new account, ASK how they came up with the number(estimated commission) that they pitched you. Get the fine details and don't let them "sales pitch" you out of a real, quality, concrete answer. Ask how long it will take to get your first commission. Ask how they know. Ask if there is any guarantee they can make you that if their estimates are wrong, you'll be compensated in another way, ie. a salary raise (There won't be, but ask so they know you're not messing around). If you're hired for a new account, know that EVERYTHING for you will be a gamble. Your commissions. The possibility that your client will stay longer than a month. Everything. -- The only way you'll have some possible insight as to how much money you will actually earn is if you are put on a pre-existing client that has been there several months and if there are several people currently on that client (or several people that still work there that USED to work for that client) who can honestly tell you how much they made. Ask them when the manager isn't standing next to them.

Wow.... I am sorry that your experience was such a negative one. In the 12 year history of our business, I have to say this is the first time that our integrity has ever come into to question. We have tirelessly built this business on hard work, dedication, integrity and trust. By no means are we perfect, but we try every day to live by the golden rule and treat people how we would like to be treated. That said, your perception is your reality and I have to respect that. I would welcome a conversation to learn how we can get better in your opinion. Thanks for your feedback! Pros

From day one, I found my ACQ "family" and it really stuck. It helped me cope with a lot of the cons of the company. It's nice that they provide snacks and "bonding" events... and the training series is really helpful for first-time sales employees.

Cons

I want to be honest here. From day one I saw a heck of a lot of favoritism going on. I've been on teams where the "favorite" team member was allowed to fake their numbers, under-produce, and still got paid more than me based on seniority- and never get written up or talked to. The people who are favorites, just get moved account to account. At the same time I've watched groups of high performing new people get laid off with no notice, no warning, no hint... because "that's the business". For a company that is SO performance driven, you would think that people going above and beyond for their clients would be rewarded or at least retained within the company (even if their client leaves)... instead people have to stay on their toes because no matter how many times you are told you have a place... that only is valid until, of course, you don't anymore (with no notice or reason). For the ladies thinking about applying here, I don't think that the CEO has much respect for female team members or their growth. I've seen so much favoritism against women and SO much female turnover that it's a bit shocking. The company rarely promotes from within (even when multiple management team members left all at once (should be a sign) they only promoted one person who had been managing his own account for a while). If you are looking for work experience for a year... try it out. If you are looking for a career... don't waste your time. But know... that they use snacks and happy hours to mask the reality of what this company really is.

Thank you for your feedback and constructive criticism . We are by far perfect and are always looking to grow and get better. It is great to hear that the culture that we try so hard to build/maintain was positive for you. I am sorry to hear that you felt there was favoritism. That is not how we operate, although in sales those who work hard and perform are often highlighted/celebrated. I feel like that is found in most sales cultures though. We will for sure take you feed back and become a stronger organization moving forward. Thanks and have a great day. Pros

Good training, great work space, great location, close to public transportation. The company has many social gatherings and opportunities to connect with other professionals in Evanston.

Cons

however the management team is lacking. Many of the managers are disrespectful and condescending. When I was hired the hr employee presented the job differently than it really was. The Partners of this company are the only saving grace they are both great to work with but they are so busy a lot of the day to day drama never hits their desk. The entire company has a clique mentality if you don't buy into this mindset you will have a hard time here. Many of the "popular" employees don't really work hard because they are to busy online shopping to actually do some work. The best part is no one will ever address their behavior because they are above normal standards.
