I have been working at Acturis full-time

    Pros

    * Large amount of responsibility placed on newer employees allows them to learn quickly * Teams clearly outlined with various roles and responsibilities within them * Young and friendly colleagues with various social activities

    Cons

    * Pay review system doesn't promote progression * High turnover of employees which are replaced by grads at a low level or promoted from within above that * Long hours that aren't rewarded by salary/bonus

    Advice to Management

Investing in mid-level employees will encourage them to stay and build on their experience instead of moving to higher paying jobs

I worked at Acturis full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - The people are great and it is a vert sociable place to work - You learn a lot on the job - You get to work with some highly useful technologies - Great work life balance

    Cons

    - Review process that determines your progression is often determined by people you don't even work with (the higher ups) - Often not rewarded based on your contributions, but based on how long you have been at the company - High turnover of employees because management don't reward their current employees nearly as much as they can get elsewhere

    Advice to Management

Developers, BAs and Technical Support are all different jobs and should be treated differently, not all bundled into the same old school processes for evaluation.

I worked at Acturis full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Hire fresh graduates with minimal work experience. Gain valuable skills/experience quickly. Large number of work socials. Relaxed office atmosphere.

    Cons

High turnover of junior employees. Junior employees do not receive company laptops, so no WFH etc. Limited formal training beyond basic training. Salary not competitive at middle levels of experience.

    Advice to Management

Senior employees / middle management is exclusively internally recruited, outside hiring would provide new ideas and skills.

I have been working at Acturis full-time

    Pros

    * Good first job (most employees are young graduates) * Ample opportunity to move teams/area

    Cons

    * Promotions typically available only when the person above you leaves or moves * Salary review process is very rigid and only comes down to how long you've been there * Long and rigid "Flexi Time"

I have been working at Acturis full-time

    Pros

    - Young workforce with friendly and supportive colleagues - Feedback on your work, bi-weekly when you start, then 3x per year

    Cons

    - Inefficient processes are ingrained in the business processes - mainly due to outsourcing and the inexperience of the first designers - Limited acquisition of transferable skills

    Advice to Management

    - Include experienced hires in the workforce - Decrease outsourcing, perform development in house, and hire experienced developers to lead teams of younger software developers
