I have been working at Aetna part-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Flex hours -Work from home on unwell days or appointment days w/ manager approval -Lots of opportunities for professional development -Huge company with lots of opportunities for networking outside of your team and department -Subsidized gym and personal training -Cafeteria with chefs inside one of the phoenix buildings -Great benefits; Although they're not as great now that they merged with CVS -Annual Bonus

    Cons

-They lost some of their perks/benefits after merging w/ CVS like the $200 reimbursable well-being program -More red tape after merging w/ CVS like not being able to hire interns during the school year anymore because that just happens to be a CVS policy -More of "now we can't do this" because of CVS policy

I have been working at Aetna full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work at home. Wear my pajamas!

    Cons

Management and people who think they are management. Do not listen to the frontline people. Inexperienced management. Unprofessional management, talk about other employees, not truthful, don't listen before attacking. Always on defense. Blames everything on leadership. Cannot admit when wrong. Attack employees and when they find out they were wrong, cannot apologize. Change policies daily and lack of policies!

I have been working at Aetna full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working from home BUT chained to computer

    Cons

Excessive workload (2-3 times the expected volume for one individual) Salary pay = mandated overtime on weekends & holidays Restricting employees from seeking same level position changes Managers that don't understand or care Poor communication & training. You are solely responsible for knowing what is going on but with your workload, you don't have the time to read up Team meetings that have no direction & end up being a chat session Reduction in company match to 401k Expensive benefits and high deductibles 1.5% or less annual raise. Bonus does not compensate Very stressful place to work. I am looking for another job!
